David Batchen founded the business in 1965 to provide maintenance services to the chemical and LPG industries in Australia, with his sole employee a tradesman by the name of Doug Burton. Doug would go on to work for David for over twenty years, beginning one of many important Batchen traditions: the loyalty, experience and longevity of our staff.

The current range of Batchen dispensers are the result of more than 40 years' experience in the design, manufacture, installation and maintenance of Auto LPG dispensers. Over this period we have won an unparalleled reputation for the performance, reliability and durability of our LPG dispensing products.
In keeping with our tradition of excellence and innovation, D.J. Batchen has developed substantial expertise in the design, construction and maintenance of Autogas stations. After all -- an Autogas dispenser has little use without an Autogas station. We have a renowned international reputation in this area: we have designed and built stations in Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, China, India, Bangladesh and more.
Unique hybrid autoclave technology shreds and sterilises up to 240L of medical waste in under 15 minutes. Hazardous waste is loaded into the machine, where it is taken through multiple cycles of shredding and steam treatment at 137°C. An efficient cutting device within our mechanical autoclave ensures the output is fully sterilised and unrecognisable when deposited into a regular 240L bin, ready for removal to landfill.
