Cradle Mountain Wilderness Village is situated in temperate rainforest in Cradle Valley on the edge of the World Heritage listed Cradle Mountain/Lake St Clair National Park in Tasmania. We offer a range of self-contained accommodation to suit both couples and families looking for the perfect get away. Whether it be exploring the National Park and native wildlife or sitting back and enjoying a glass of Tasmanian wine while immersing yourself in the natural surrounds, the Village offers the best of both worlds.
Services
Due to so many guests booking their experience's with us at Cradle Mountain Wilderness Village, last-minute availability is very limited. We currently recommend booking at least 4 weeks in advance to minimise disappointment. Our booking system may mention, "property is sold during those dates" which will then allow you to select an alternative future date.
We are privileged to be located in the iconic North West region known as the "foraging region" due to the high numbers of boutique growers and producers. Enjoyed from the comfort of your cabin breakfast hampers contain a selection of eggs, bacon, bread, jams & spreads, cereal, muesli, yoghurt and juice.

A great village-like atmosphere. The cabins are clumped in small groups but all with plenty of space between them. Our spa cabin was spacious with king bed, double spa and lounge/dining/kitchen all in the main room then a large walk-in shower, toilet and basin in the bathroom.
There's a mud room at the entrance and the entire floor of this space has been cleverly covered in coir matting so there's ample opportunity to get your shoes clean before heading inside.
Plenty of wildlife to see around the cabins - observable from inside the cabin or from your own private deck.

The hospitality at Cradle Mountain Wilderness Village is second to none. From Steve in reception who made us feel so welcome to Stephen in the kitchen who, with the help of the kitchen staff, served us the most… delicious food we have had so far on our Tasmanian Adventure. The spa cottage was amazing and worth every cent. The breakfast hamper is also worth every cent.
We were so impressed to see EV chargers throughout the village as well.
We will be back!

This is the second time we have come here for a short getaway. Really do look-forward to coming. The surroundings are enchanting and having the chalets tucked away gives the feel of being isolated in the alpine… bush.
The staff are friendly and happy to have a chat and tell the odd joke which makes it even more enjoyable and keeps the atmosphere friendly and light.
If staying defiantly make a booking at the restaurant, affordable filling meals prepared by a top notch chef and kitchen team.
Right on the edge of the park and within walking distance to the visitor centre it is the perfect base

Had the best time. Such a wonderful weekend with snow falling all around us. certainly the best way to spend our anniversary! Breakfast hamper was generous and fed us for 2 days of breakfast (and feeding some… little locals). Amenities were beautifully clean and cabin stayed nice and warm. The little bench seat near the spa was perfect to watch the weather come through. Only downside is our cabin overlooked another so if people were in the kitchen and looked up they could see in the cabin so next time will request the bottom cabin, but we will be back 😁😁

Really lovely cabins set amongst the wilderness, very clean, panel heaters in each room, kitchenette had stovetop - no oven. Restaurant was small but served delicious wedges. All staff were friendly and helpful. Easy parking right next to cabin. Visitor centre is walking distance. We only had 1 toilet roll in the cabin...!
