Born and bred at Mirani in the Pioneer Valley, I returned to Walkerston in 2001 to start the Valley Vet Surgery after graduating from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Vet Science. I completed my Bachelor of Veterinary Science at James Cook University in 2010. I work mainly in the small animal field with a love for surgical cases.
Minimal wait times- Appointments are routinely scheduled to lessen waiting time. This gives us the time to ensure we have covered all your concerns. As the next patient, it means that there is less chance of appointments running over time, leaving you hanging in the waiting room. Obviously, emergencies happen.
Every year Valley Veterinary Surgery takes in students from Year 10-12 who are interested in pursuing a career in the veterinary industry. We also take on 3rd-5th Year Veterinary Science students from various Universities as part of their clinical rotation requirements. If you are in Year 10-12 or currently studying Veterinary Science, please contact us for further information.
Along with regular veterinary examinations, there are vital steps in safeguarding your pet's health. At Valley Veterinary Surgery we have annual health care programs for pets to ensure they are in good health. Besides giving your pet a comprehensive physical examination, we're also interested in its behaviours, previous medical and dietary history, and its environment including diet, emotional stresses, and other factors.
Behavioural problems can be due to behavioural issues, medical issues or a combination of both. Our experienced veterinarians will investigate behavioural problems by obtaining a full history and conducting a full examination (sometimes your pet may require blood or urine tests to rule out underlying medical conditions) to accurately diagnose a problem.

This place may look old with a gravel/unsealed parking lot.. but the staff, service quality, and resources/medications are all top notch! 👌 Prices are fairer than other places too :) If you do multiple procedures, you get discounted, and they also send out new-client vouchers too. Cats and I feel relaxed here and we received friendly, genuinely caring and competent services. Highly recommend! 👍

Incredible service from the team here. Such beautiful, kind and loving souls who only want the best for your babies. Had to put down our cat of 14 years and we received warm hugs, sincere apologies and even got a beautiful handwritten card with a poem in the mail. Highly recommend this vet and will never go anywhere else! And thank you to all the staff for making such a hard time easier ❤️
