We regret to inform our valued guests past and future, that due to some unfortunate events that have taken place, we are unable to have visitors at out cottages. We are currently living at the property ourselves. Not quite the holiday we were expecting I can assure you!
We are unsure what the future will look like for us, how, or when we will be able to rehome ourselves, but hope that someday in the future, we may be able to open the cottages to guests once again.Hoping for the best. Please follow our Facebook page for updates and to hear news of our foals as they arrive.

Well, if you have ever wanted to meet the most handsome, gentle, affectionate jack donkey, I'm your stud! To date, I have never shown even a thought of being anything but, a teeny weeny bundle of four legged, furry, lovable gentleness. Until recently, I had heard people say, I am the smallest of all the donkeys at Donkey Tales Farm.
I was the last purchased donkey by the owners at Donkey Tales Farm for some time. It made me no less important, in fact the opposite. They were waiting to be sure I had fallen pregnant with the amazingly handsome Satchmo from Ecclestone Valley in Tasmania, before I made the sea voyage to Victoria. So fair to say, when I arrived, I had a job on my hooves, teaching the others that I was no pushover.
My owners say they are most pleased with me, as I have made tremendous progress in my time here. In the early days, my owners would sometimes sit for up to 3 hours, out in the paddock, waiting for me to come close to them. I was not really 'into people' so much back then. When things got better, Marianne would walk 360 degree circles with me for an hour, just to get my halter on.
She had difficulty giving birth to me and things didn't exactly go smoothly after I was born!. My Mummy was really tired and didn't know what she was supposed to do with me. I do know she was none too happy with the idea of feeding me after my birth and I can't say I blame her. I just couldn't find my way out and Peter and Marianne had to help me enter the world.

My Husband & I have just spent the most fantastic 7 days at Donkey Tales Farm Cottages, from arrival to departure it was perfect in everyway. Spending time with the donkeys in such a relaxing peaceful environment would have to be the best medicine to forget about all your problems & things that cause stress in your life. Hang your problems in the tree on your way in & leave them there.😊 If anyone was born to run this type of business dealing with people its definitely Marianne & Peter. If you have the chance to book a Gold detecting trip with Peter don't hesitate it will be the highlight of

Absolutely brilliant place to stay ...our cottage (Duffys) was immaculate, spotless. Incredibly well set up and so, so quiet ... got the best sleeps ever. The evenings in the cottage were toasty warm on a cold evening, the bed comfortable, the shower nice and hot and the kitchen well kitted out. They have clearly put a huge amount of care in… catering for their guests and it shows. The donkeys are beyond gorgeous and it was a real privilege to be able to get close to these dear creatures.
Marianne and Peter are great hosts and we truly appreciate the effort they have put into both setting

Had the most amazing time away here recently. Marianne and Peter made me feel very welcome. The cottage was immaculate. The best bit was the donkeys. Great watching them from the cottage - been able to pat them and hearing them bellow. The scenery on the property was like been out in the outback - gum trees, kangaroos, birds, wild life. Also silence. Very close to Maryborough and perfect for the Talbot Farmers Market. It was a perfect retreat. Thank you for been such amazing host. Will be coming again definitely. Thank you

What a delightful experience! Peace and quiet in a relaxed bush style setting, only a few minutes out of Maryborough was perfect for the weekend conference I was attending. Getting to pat, scratch and talk to the adorable miniature donkeys was a real pleasure and I am already planning my next trip.
Thoroughly recommend to anyone looking for quiet relaxing accommodation.
