Dandenong Veterinary is a non-corporate Small Animal Veterinary Hospital in Melbourne's Eastern Suburbs. We are one of the oldest veterinary practices in Melbourne, first beginning in 1925. We are on the count-down to our 100th year and we can't wait to throw a party! We welcome clients from near and far, and have many that travel from many suburbs away to visit us.

Our hydrobath, used by our professional groomer 2-3 days per week, and able to be used by clients at other times. Our sterile surgical room, with state of the art anaesthesic machine and monitoring equipment. Our pathology area. Our microscope is able to capture digital images so we can load them straight into patient files, use in our client discussions back in the consulting room, and send to specialists if required.
When your pet is not feeling themselves, it is important to seek veterinary attention promptly to avoid them further deteriorating at home. The sooner you are seen, the sooner we can examine your pet, diagnose the problem, and importantly, start treatment. We consult 6 days a week, and into the evenings on weekdays, and we deliberately hold slots within our consulting schedules to allow unwell patients to come down sooner.
Dandenong Veterinary Hospital is proud to offer our clients a large array of medical and surgical care, and a broad range of diagnostic services. We are a purpose-built building with a large proportion of our hospital dedicated to hospital and surgical patients. Anaesthesia and Surgery are performed on weekdays, while appointments are conducted seven days a week.

I came in with my very sick mother and this was the most weird hospital we gave ever been too. Awful layout of a carpark and feels like a airport when you get in. Rude staff and just a terrible experience overall

Max my darling little dog passed away today. For 15 years, since he was a puppy, the team at DVH looked after and cared for him, as if he was their own.Staff had come and gone, but every one of them, new and old, never at any moment was rude or unkind. I am indeed indebted for the care and live you had shown my two dogs. Dr Darren Short and Dr Jessica Morse have been there throughout his life and loved him just as much as we did. Both doctors never suggested extravagant or needless treatment, thereby respecting my hardships, and tailored their treatment accordingly, Many, many thanks for taking us through

Been in this hospital on A&E with my wife 7th time in 2 months after the second covid vaccine, and it is the worst one in any aspect. 150 pacients and 6 hours waiting. It looks like nobody has a clue what they are doing, exept the big number of security guards that they think they are the most important.
The management of this unit should definitely revise and make some serious changes, it is out of limits.
If any other person experienced side effects after the 2nd covid jab please get in contact. Hospital is doing nothing to help

9 month old baby had an accident and needed treatment. No I her doctors or walk in centre would help. Arrived here and after waiting 20 minutes outside in the cold was told baby would have to wait in the children's department with a number of other children who have COVID. So in order for my baby to receive help I would have to risk her little life potentially. COVID patients should be separate regardless. If they need hospital treatment it should be in a different zone it should not mean the decision of whether my child can he helped or not. We went through so much to have our rainbow baby I am

If you need a joint replacement do everything you can to avoid this hospital, 4 times my Mum has been booked in for surgery only for it to be cancelled at the very last minute, when I say last minute I literally mean last minute. twice she had her hospital gown on as was sitting in the hospital wheel-chair waiting to go down to theatre, once they even marked on her leg with a marker-pen ready for the procedure, only to be told they have no beds, and now this morning she's been told that she has to wait until 3 days time because they have no beds, now unless i'm mistaken i'm sure we're not living

I went here for A&E. I attended the hospital in tears on Sunday 3 weeks ago. I had been told after greeted by security that I would have a blade used and was told I'd not be able to have my dad come in with me. I asked for nurse on charge as the nurse was not helpful. The nurses manager namely Colette Griffthin was not sympathetic and made me speak to her while crying in the middle of the hallway in front of other patients. She had no regards about being allowed to bring in ONE another member of support as I needed help due to my physical wellbeing and emotionally being in a poor state. I was not

L can't say enough here. Just fantastic. Our 20yo cat had a stroke and was suffering. They said come straight in even though we had no appointment. Staff were awesome, caring and good listeners. Dr Jessica was the Vet that took care of the Euthanasia. Professional, patient, caring, explained everything and was simply awesome under the spur of the moment pressure, especially with my mum who has Alzheimer's. As a Registered Nurse (humans!) l cannot say enough good things about this clinic. Yes, pet care doesn't come cheap but if you have to pay anyway, you cant go past this place.

Losing an animal to an illness is gut wrenching, to know that you have the love and support of your vet and his staff is an awesome feeling. Thank you Dr Darren and Cass for being so caring and making sure Chloe wasn’t alone during her passing . Thank you for the lovely flowers and message, something we definitely weren’t expecting....thank you so much
