Services
The Australasian College of Legal Medicine provides a network for doctors and dentists who have completed dual qualifications in law and medicine or dentistry, or forensic medicine, or whose areas of practice are impacted by the law and who have consequently elected to undertake internal College or external training to gain at least a basic understanding of the law as it applies to their practices for the benefit of their patients.
A Fellow is entitled to claim his or her membership of the College as having specialist knowledge and experience and is entitled to use the post-nominal "FACLM". While a Member is not entitled to claim his or her membership as denoting a specialist knowledge and experience, the post-nominal "MACLM" may be used after his or her name to signify membership of the College.
I have nearly achieved the Member or Fellow requirements, except for the College examination or another ACLM course requirement. What level of membership should I apply for?. This includes submitting the Fellowship application form. College Council will then assess whether you have fulfilled all requirements and advise of your application outcome.
All members who are working to achieve Membership (MACLM) or Fellowship (FACLM) must pass the College Examination. The College Examination is an open book, 24 hour exam which is emailed to you at an agreed date and time. You must then complete it and return it via email within the 24 hour time frame.
