Services
She has gained a wealth of experience working in corrections, community mental health, public and private hospitals, and in private practice, and uses her experience to educate, supervise and guide other mental health professionals. Melissa's passion is Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). It is her primary therapeutic orientation.
DBT is a comprehensive treatment that requires a clinician to blend a principle-based approach with specific protocols that are part of a greater framework. In order to deliver treatment, clinicians need to be suitably qualified and trained. Behavioral Tech proposes four levels of training that can lead to being suitably trained to deliver DBT.
Melissa offers DBT consultancy to teams and organisations, ranging from establishing DBT teams through to one-off and ongoing supervision of established DBT teams. Melissa is based in Brisbane but is able to travel and regularly consults to teams in Sydney. Recent consultancy projects include the West Moreton Hospital and Health Service, Aftercare (The Floresco Centre and Brisbane South PHN), Mission Australia, and St John of God Hospital.
