Booked a room for one night and the experience was the worst ever, Disaster. The bathroom sink was dirty, full of hair. The room was stinky. Upon reaching out to Reception, we were told the room is in the corner and it doesn’t have a window so it is going to stink. We have to leave the hotel room and stay at friends place, but imagine if we did not have any friends in Sydney. Staff was rude, and kept blaming us that we used the sink and the hairs were ours while we didn’t even carry our shaving kits as it was only one night stay. According to them we didn’t report the issue before using the

I spent a couple of nights at the De Vere hotel along with my parents. The rooms are mediocre for the price it offers. The reception staff was quite short in assisting with new check-ins and inaccurate information on the room configuration. There is no street parking available, just one car space on the adjoining site street which is always occupied. Private parking is not available and there is almost no street parking in the nearby streets. Wilson parking is located quite distant to the hotel. No assistance was offered with luggage even for senior citizens quite obviously struggling with luggage

Owner falsely accused me of causing minor damage to the room. I stayed over three weeks. Had to file in small claims court to prove this. IO highly recommend not staying in this hotel. There are many hotels nearby that have AC, larger refrigerator, stove and are cleaner. This hotel is about making money only. There is also a stench and smell always in the hall. Reception are fake and so bare minimum. If youre looking for a hotel in the area I highly recommend you look elsewere as there are heaps of options at this price point. Be very careful an take pictures of the room if you take the risk of

It's old and there are steps here and there, 8 to an old lift, few on entering building and then I had another 6 to get to my room. It's about 700m walk to train. There's a bus stop for 311 outside. They are about half hour apart. Besides that and dated room I actually liked it. My bed was comfortable. Tv on wall. Had a mini kitchenette with microwave and sink. Hot water took forever to get going so turn on while you're getting undressed. I felt safe and comfortable.

The room was perfect for what we needed- very basic kitchen( only kettle and 2 cups for a coffee plus 2 normal glasses). It's alright if you are eating out like we did.
There was no toilet brush in the toilet so you can't clean up after yourself. Other than that it's a nice little hotel. Would stay again.

This hotel has its pros and cons.
Pros:
- It's a good location that is close to a train station and also reasonably close to many of the touristy attractions in Sydney
- Friendly staff
- I booked a single and ended up getting a double for no extra charge (until I extended)
- Cheaper than the other nearby hotels.
Cons:
- Loud noises woke me up a lot. I never figured out what they were. (elevator? construction? Staff moving carts around?)
- If you want wi-fi, you have to pay an expensive fee for it.
- Prices can become very expensive around the weekends.
- One of the mattresses in my room

We paid $84/night for a deluxe queen. The facilities are more than adequate for the price. The place smells a little musty and I agree w the smell of smokers (although faint and generally only in the halls). On the plus, the location is great, the booking was easy, and the room and towels were refreshed promptly. It's definitely dated and the luxury factor is low but as a pragmatist on a budget, I'd stay here again.

Ugh. For $200.00+ dollars (AU), I expected better. This hotel (which, for some unknown reason is listed in several Sydney guidebooks and is rated on various websites are being a 3.5 star hotel) is pretty grim. The place looks like it has never been updated; patrons had clearly been smoking in is "non-smoking" facility, and everything is "extra": from Internet access to breakfast (which is awful).
