Lismore Veterinary Clinic was established in 1955 by Dr David Jones following in the footsteps of his father who was a veterinarian for the Pastures Protection Board. David wanted to provide the Northern Rivers with high quality professional veterinary care for both large and small animals. The practice had its humble beginnings in rooms under his first home at 79 Uralba street.
We have a well equipped and modern small animal hospital that can provide a broad range of medical and surgical treatments. We provide a full on-farm service for all farm species including horses, cattle, sheep, goats, donkeys and alpacas. We can assist with hendra vaccinations, diagnosis and treatment of illness and lameness, birthing problems and dentistry.
Richard graduated from Sydney University with 1st class honours in 1991 and started at the Lismore Veterinary Clinic the following year. He became a partner in the practice in 1995. Richard has a strong passion for his career and supports the profession by regularly mentoring veterinary students. He is ashamed to admit that he owns a chihuahua.

Amazing from first phone call, getting roxy and I in next day. Appointment with Richard was fantastic highly, highly recommend him. At end of appointment cried happy tears for finally being treated friendly and understood. Girls on the desk were amazing. Thank you. Very good but communication could be better, didn't ring to say my dog was ready to come home after a operation, had to ring them after it was getting late. And I accidentally left my purse there and they didn't ring me to say it was there which I was a little upset about but otherwise great service

Dr. Richard and the Team are just amazing. Always thorough, always listen, great manner with our dogs and happy to take time to explain things and answer questions. They call back when they say they will, they're knowledgeable, professional and genuinely compassionate. I absolutely trust the team with the care and treatment of my dogs.
