Honestly, sad to say we weren’t a big fan of this restaurant. The meat quality was very average/poor and the service was pretty average too. We didn’t like that there wasn’t enough time to eat our food because it was pushed to the side and the next thing was slapped on. We felt rushed to eat by the waitress who was also in a rush cooking everyone’s meals at once. We liked the nice and clean and the bbq grill was very unique/cool looking!

First meal out of lockdown and it didn’t disappoint! The venue has a very traditional kbbq restaurant feel. With everything from the decor, tables and service reminding me of Korea! The staff were friendly and hard working. All the food was tasty and cooked well, though the meat quality for some of the pieces were average. Overall a good kbbq option in the cbd area.

Toodouri offers a decent variety on the menu from barbecue to cooked dishes to Korean stews. Between four of us we had ox tongue, wagyu, rib meat, chap chae and army stew. It was plenty for all of us with two bowls of rice to share. The servings are quite large. The meat was quite tender, I recommend the rib meat for flavour and tenderness. The chap chae is quite sweet but very tasty. The army stew isn’t as rich as I’m used to but still very tasty and not too spicy. Overall and great dinner and reasonably priced, worked out to be less than $40 per person and we could’ve easily fed a 5th.

We were back in Melbourne for the evening so for dinner, I wanted Korean BBQ. There's a ton of them near the Queen Victoria Market so after a quick search, we settled on Toodouri. This street houses three other KBBQ spots (Donwoori, Woo Ga and Hallah). Talk about stiff competition.
We dropped in on a Tuesday evening (around 7:15pm). It wasn't too busy so everyone was sitting on the main floor but they do have an upstairs. This place is legit; the BBQ's are charcoal style.
The menu had some happy hour specials (10:00pm to 1:00am) and daily specials (Monday to Thursday only). The

Standard meat, price and atmosphere (slightly dark and narrow). The place can be busy, so reservation is recommended.
The reason for the 4 star is that our waitress was fantastic. We came as a big group, ordered many things time and again; and she smiled every single time she took our order. Great service.

You know how you sometimes have those moments that make you think, retrospectively, was that meal actually great or were the circumstances just ideal?
My Toodouri experience was just that but, I am more than willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.
I had the bulgogi stew - it was steaming hot, full of flavour. And the good good non- cabbage or potato (one too many pierogi in Poland experiences can scar a person...) vegetable dumplings. Both were pretty damn tasty.
Oh, and not to mention the lovely service. From the waitress drying off our shoes, or even letting us into their restaurant
