Services
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy was pioneered by early psychologists and psychiatrists who identified thoughts as a significant factor affecting our wellbeing. Two such pioneers, Dr Aaron Beck and Albert Ellis both described a treatment that helps a person to understand how their unhelpful thoughts might lead to distressing feelings and behaviours and to learn more supportive skills and strategies to manage emotional distress.
Our bedwetting program is effective in supporting 98% children and adolescents to become dry within 6-8 weeks in a positive and manageable way. Children and adolescents report feeling more confident and parents report a significant reduction in stress and anxiety, as well as less washing of bed linen.
Leigh is a clinical psychologist who has worked with children, adolescents, adults and their families for more than 20 years. It can leave you feeling devastated and overwhelmed and perhaps also a little guilty, wondering if you have in any way contributed to this diagnosis. It can seem to be a long path to follow and you may be wondering how you will get through the next years. But, remember that your little boy or girl is a very special person, and with help, it can be a rewarding experience watching your child learn and develop.
Often a child or adult presents with a variety of difficulties, a comprehensive assessment can often provide a 'culture of understanding' about the child or client. This is helpful because it allows the individual to understand their strengths and weaknesses.

It is helpful for teachers and carers to also have a good idea about how to understand the individuals strengths and recognise weaknesses so that an informed plan can be made to improve the person's difficulties. At Leigh Morgan Clinical Psychology, we are able to provide a number of assessments, some of which are detailed below.
