When I first moved to this country I was unlucky enough to be fooled by the website, which had unfaithful photos and flat out false information on the website.
The owner of these hovels, realising the extent to which any normal person with normal hygiene standards would avoid this place, has made his money by marketing this place to backpackers looking for anything with walls and a roof and then putting zero dollars into the care of the place.
While I was there, other houses got bed bugs, windows were smashed once or twice, there were drunken fist fights on the streets and a whole myriad of unseemly

Worst experience of my life! The filthiness of this place knows no limits and I was stunned by the disrespectful and even violent and distructive behavior of other tenants. The houses do not even closely look the way depicted online and there is nothing like cleaning up after oneself. There are not enough cooking utensils to even cook a proper meal, the couches are old and filthy, everything is broken and security in terms of secure doors or windows is non-existent (not even fire alarm), anyone comes and goes as they please and could simply take anything with them. If I could, I would rate zero

Sydney Terraces is worth a look if you plan to stay in Sydney. It’s really convenient in Marrickville which is an inner Sydney suburb. Its only 15 minutes to UTS and Sydney Uni and Chinatown. if you like share house accommodation it’s great. Meet lots of other backpackers and students here, some on working holidays. having a backyard and a BBQ is a real plus too

I stayed here in 2004 for just under 3 months! It was perfect, very modern, all furniture provided, which is ideal for backpackers! There is a corner shop, bus stop into Sydney just around the corner litterally! Good train links if you walk to Newtown, the bus ride to Coogee beach is only about 1/2 hour if you catch it from outside Aldi in Newtown!! Good pub around the corner (vic in the park) and Woolworths just across the park (and because us backpackers would often walk home with our trolley's, they would send someone to collect them!! oh forgot to mention the free internet at the office where
