Looks nothing like the photos. Damp, dark, smells of mildew. First room I was given had roaches, second room dust everywhere and hair clippings around sink. Not to mention the receptionist was completely unsympathetic and didn’t offer an apology!! Decided to stay elsewhere. Over 2 weeks and still waiting for a refund.

Whilst I didn’t actually stay there, I want to applaud their customer service for giving me a full refund with no questions asked when I had to cancel a stay on the morning of my (intended) arrive. They were well within their rights to decline but after a horrid 2021 they didn’t delay in reassuring me and giving me full credit for four nights. Kudos to ya kids.

Great location. Best to ring and pick your room.
Our room was so cold (june), aircon not working, 1 blanket on the bed, floor was so sticky to walk on and our towels were damp.
Unfortunately we came in late to change rooms or at least get another blanket and fresh towels.
If I needed to stay again I would definitely ring and request a higher floor room.

The floor of my room was incredibly sticky and really gross to walk on in bare feat... But I dunno how you'd even fix this because the floor is made of thatch or some other woven material? I suppose you can't really mop it, and vacuuming wouldn't help.
Such a shame because apart from that it's a great place to stay with really interesting decor and a fascinating open roof that pours down with synthetic rain through the centre of the building, down through every floor.

Friendly staff, comfortable bed and brilliant amenities for my short stay. Really like the look of the place and best spot if you want to visit Newtown area. Only suggestion is to not have an led green light on outside of our room’s window as some of the light gets through the curtains and makes it feel like daylight outside during night time. I assume it’s there for ambiance and safety, but can make it hard to fall asleep.

Wow!!! We were so impressed with The Urban. A wonderful location, close to everything and easy to find. When we arrived we were greeted in a very friendly and informative way. Was an easy check-in. Requesting a later check-out was no problem. Loved how quirky the inside garden was, our room was very quiet. We had a relaxing sleep-in till 9:30am. We loved how clean and fresh our room was. Could not have been better

Awesome place to stay in Newtown! I was attending an event at the Enmore theatre which was maybe a 50-100m walk. The rooms are quirky and styles really well! The room was clean and neat and had lots of space... a decent sized kitchen, bathroom ,walk in wardrobe! desk area and little balcony. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The foyer down stairs was cute and nice and they even provided fruit and water for guest. If i go to Newtown again i will be looking no further than here.
