It is unfortunate that 43 per cent of marriages end in breakdown and the rate for de facto relationship breakdowns is even higher.
A divorce is the legal termination of a marriage. Applying for a divorce order and then obtaining this order from the Family Court means that your marriage has ended and you are free to remarry should you wish to. For the Court to approve a divorce application, you must prove that you and your spouse have been separated for 12 months, that the marriage has irretrievably broken down and that there is no chance you will reconcile.
Following a separation, married and de facto often have assets that need to be divided between them. A property settlement is the means to do this whilst minimising any stamp duty on the transfer of assets. We can assist you with finalising all outstanding financial matters between you and your estranged spouse or partner.

I started with Lynn & Brown in May 2009 and, being (at the time) an eternal optimist, stayed with the firm through our trial in May 2012.
Due to complications with actioning the Orders I further stayed with Lynn and Brown through to January 2017, when I had to finally concede that Lynn and Brown simply did not have the ability to enforce the Orders. This has been exacerbated by my ex-wife's complete disregard for the law system and continual failure to comply with court Orders, but isn't this one of the key reasons that I pay for the lawyer's services.
