Services
At Pigdon Norgate we are a specialist family law firm driven by the pursuit of what is best for our clients. Our team of lawyers combine experience and ingenuity into a strategy that suits your circumstances, without unnecessary litigation. Suzanne Pigdon and Rosemary Norgate are accredited specialists in family law.
Counselling and family therapy can be very useful in assisting people to discuss their separation and to work out care arrangements for their children and how best to finalise financial matters in a respectful and safe environment. We encourage our clients to engage in counselling and family therapy, where appropriate, and often very early on in the separation process.
Same sex relationships are included within the definition of 'De Facto Couple' in the Family Law Act 1979. This means that same sex couples have the same financial rights and remedies available to married couples and such disputes will be dealt with by the either the Family Court or the Federal Circuit Court.
Financial agreements are relevant to both married and de facto (including same sex) couples. However, in order to be binding some strict rules need to be followed, so legal advice may be required. A pre-nuptial agreement is a contract between spouses. It usually covers what is agreed will happen financially during the marriage and upon separation.
Family estate and provision matters arise if adequate provision has not been made for members of the family of a deceased person from the estate of the deceased person (or a person who meets certain criteria as listed below), the Court can make an order for provision out of the estate of the deceased person that it thinks is appropriate for the maintenance, education or advancement in life of that person.

Rosemary and Hannah were amazing to work with. They were helpful, understanding and professional in all our communications. The quality of their work was excellent beyond my expectations. I would recommend them to anyone requiring their services.

Jack Hensley represented me in property settlement negotiations following my divorce. Jack is patient, calm & empathetic. He achieved a satisfactory resolution to a difficult situation. My children and I are so grateful for everything he did for us and I would definitely recommend Jack and Pigdon Norgate Family Lawyers to anyone needing family law services.

Client service responsiveness is very poor. Expect to waste your time chasing for follow up. I contacted this office twice over a four week period to engage a lawyer. Twice they took my details, assuring me a lawyer would call me back within a working day. No-one ever called me back. In short, client service integrity and responsiveness very poor.
