Ben's is so under-rated as a restaurant. We have been coming here on a regular basis for the past 18 years and we have NEVER had a bad meal or poor service. The meals are extremely generous and the prices fair.
We will continue to be customers because Ben's provides an enjoyable dining experience and consistent quality food.
I can't recommend the restaurant highly enough.

Hmm... judging by the recent reviews I'd say they're going through a rough patch and hope they sort it out cause I usually love this place. Rating on the satay beef alone which was ordered through menulog was too sweet, I could barely get through it. It was more like sweet and sour

The seafood hotpot was big on tofu and very short on seafood. The Orange Chicken required additional sauce for which we were charged $3.

Absolute garbage. Worst service I have encountered in a very long time, rude and abusive staff, expensive for what it is. Would NOT recommend at all. Asked to speak to management and spoke with Trish - one of the rudest, disgusting experiences I have had the displeasure of experience.
Run for the hills everyone - believe the reviews and avoid this rip off joint at all costs.

Some of the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. The guy who answered the phone actually lied to me and tell me my food was on the way. It wasn’t. But eventually he discovered that himself when he actually checked the Menulog screen (something he said he already did). They told me to come and get the food myself after it was 45 mins late - “it’s not cold” - probably the worst reassurance ever. Zero accountability, zero apology, didn’t receive rice and other parts of my order, the soup wasn’t sealed and lost over half of it in the plastic bag and the food we did manage to

Zero attention to customers.
Waited 20mins for calling staff to order, didn't have any eyes contacted.
Looks busy with a few staff working around but we don't have much time for it.
It was my one of the favourite Vietnamese restaurant, only for the taste of noodle soup but the customer service wise never been satisfied.
I removed the name on my list. So disappointed today.

Look, we rolled in after a daytime dj set next door. It was 730pm on a Saturday, we got a table instantly. Manager let us leave to grab drinks from the bottle shop (wine bottles only) we wanted dumplings. They don't have any... We had the crispy soya chicken, fried rice chicken omlette amongst other things. But those dishes and the spring rolls were most memorable. Everyone enjoyed the meal and karaoke was an exciting novelty. The staff we interacted with were so sweet and lovely. Especially Ky, love you Ky, such a good waiter with good recommendations and service. My one or two gripes is I can

I arrived there at 11am on Sun and they said it's open. Me and my mate ordered 2 noodle soup. One is served at 11:45am and the other at 11:52am. It wasn't busy at all. Just 1 more table other than us and 1 guy came in for takeaway.
I asked the reason for delay. The waitress said it is because they opened the kitchen at 11am. What?? Have some common sense people. You don't want to wait for 50min for your pho especially when you know the shop is not even busy.
Oh and the big fly in your sauce was shocking as well.

Ben's has been a family favourite for the last 15 years. The quality of the food and service is always consistent and the meals are of a generous size. Favourites from the menu include the Boneless Lemon Chicken, Chicken Chow Mein, Fried Rice and Sizzling Beef. We have recommended Ben's to many of our friends and they are never disappointed.

I helped a friend with his song last night and we were up first as our entree was arriving around 8.30pm. Despite submitting 3 requests earlier, none of them were played and the night ended at 11pm. Very disappointing.

Food always delicious, staff friendly, quick service. We like the Banquets, as you get to try a few different flavours. There is usually more food than you can quite finish.
They are licensed, and have quite a good range of wines and beers, including some Asian brands.

It is a long restaurant we knew for a long time. We went there today and the soup was not seasoned well, we ordered 4 noodles and one pork ball salad. We all thought that our soup was weird so we put in any sauce to change the flavour. Later on we tasted eachothers soup and it tasted like water. Even the price was expensive, the waitress asked us… if we wanted clear noodles but there was an extra $2, we did not know at all. One bowl of noodle costs like $18. It tasted literally like watery soup, i have never tasted something so bad like this before.
Usually other place prices are decent

Karaoke at Bens on a Friday night is actually the best thing ever. Settle in for a delectable meal (if you can choose between the wide array of options), spoil yourself with BYO wine, and show off your Australian idol skills. People get in to it. The most fun karaoke night I have been to in ages.

I highly recommend the spring rolls!

Went here on a Saturday night for a work Christmas party. Wow. I think my hearing is actually permanently damaged due to the obscenely loud speakers used for karaoke.

The food! Slightly disheartened by the amount of noise, I found the food to be not too bad, basically generic chinese food which was fairly well cooked, we had plates brought out to our tables, the rice was nice, the pork which I think was supposed to be sweet and sour pork almost broke my teeth due to it containing bones still, there was also a honey chicken sort of thing which was extremely sweet, but tasted okay.

Did I mention

Here's a few fun facts that will help you enjoy your Ben's experience. Think of it as the safety card kept safely in the back pocket of your seat on the plane when you fly.

1. Always go to Ben's in a group. It isn't a venue for a romantic dinner for two, your family. A massive group of your friends is your only option here.

2. Don't expect five-star cuisine. Sure, it isn't bad for what my family would call 'Australian Chinese' (the chinese food we buy in stores here being nothing like traditional Chinese / Asian cuisine). It's cheap, cheerful and

Oh god, this place is hellish. Crappy Australian-style Chinese food (usually served banquet style so you can't pick what you get), a massive, hot room full of huge round tables with no room to move around, and always full of groups of women on their Hen's night or men on their Buck's night screeching karaoke with the mic screeching feedback even louder. People seem to come here just to get wasted and sing karaoke, which I'm all for if it were Fat Louis's or similar, but at what's supposed to be a restaurant it's pretty pointless. That's cool, I've come

Honesty, who goes to Ben's for the food? There are hundreds of restaurants that do a better feed. You go for one thing and one thing only.... the Karaoke!

This place is brilliant when you're with a group - the bigger and drunker, the better.

They will try and make you eat the banquet if you are a large group, which I think is pretty average. At least go with the Vietnamese banquet over the Chinese one.

If you are able to order off the menu, do that instead. Only make sure you order before all the big groups get settled, otherwise your meals will come out sporadically and will take

Don't go here expecting a 5 star restaurant, this place is 3 and a half at its best. Having said that, the place is decent, clean and the service is pretty fast.

They do tend to cram a lot of tables into the joint, but to experience the food and the 'Ben's Restaurant Experience' like it should be experienced, you need to go there on a Friday or Saturday night and stay past 9pm.

They have KARAOKE people!!! It's so much fun and it makes the place come alive. From the hours of 9pm to 11:30pm on a Friday and Saturday night, you can get up there and try out your singing

Ben's falls under the category of restaurants that do not not very appealing, but taste amazing. It has come to the point where whenever I see a shady looking restaurant, I instantly think the food will taste delicious. Ben's is the kind of restaurant you go to only for the food. You can forget about getting first class service at this place but who needs good service when the food is so good?

Most dishes I have had here are great, but I only come to this place for one thing- the pho! If you are not familiar with pho, it is the a Vietnamese soup dish wish consists of Broth, rice noodles

The three stars may be a bit unfair considering the food is very good, but the last time we went to Ben's we waited over an hour to eat, couldn't get a drink and gave up on the karaoke, which was supposed to be the point of our fun get together.

DON'T GO WHEN THE CRICKET'S ON AT THE 'GABBA.

A bit dramatic I know but we'd booked weeks ahead and had a really bad time. The drunken cricket fans overran the place, smashed glasses and even knocked over a table as we were leaving. Not the proprietor's fault I guess - and I'm sure they made heaps of money, but
