An almost overwhelming choice of delicious food is on offer at this restaurant. We had the Kung Pao chicken and my dining partner suggested it is better than what you get in Sunnybank. High praise indeed. The Black Pepper Chicken was also something I would order again without hesitation.

Been here a few times for take away and it's great. Nice dumplings and an amazing stir fried fish dish are my favourites.

Great service and good food. We ordered the dim sum and when asked if we ordered enough, the waiter did not use us asking us if we ordered enough as an opportunity to push a sale and he was spot on with how much food we needed. We still ordered more after the first round, although we didn't need to, because the food was so nice and then fell into a happy full stupor for the rest of the evening.

The food here always tastes so good. Very authentic. Very fresh tasting, reasonably priced, very generous servings too. Staff are always polite and the restaurant is very clean. They also have some good lunch time specials for us working folk in the area.

This place is a bit of a dreamy gem.
I'll start out with how they have a loyalty program with other places in South Bank such as Ginga. Which I am yet to visit their other emporium restaurant in Fortitude Valley.

Bamboo Basket is a wonderful place to get your favourite traditional Chinese cuisine. The meats they use you can tell are fresh and professionally prepared. Their dishes are exquisitely presentable and throughout the years since knowing about them altogether, I haven't had a bad food experience.
I have only had a run in with a waitress/attendant once, but I don't think

I loved the hot pot here it was absolutely amazing and yummy although, waiter felt a bit pushy at times and we had to call out a couple times to get attention. There's not much options for a vegetarian as most of them contains meat and pork so that's a no for me, so I ended up having vegetables and rice with tofu. I like variety, so this was kind of disappointing. But the buns really make up for it!

Food really nice. A little greasy but nice and fresh. Quality ingredient used. Only reason for a 4 star my duck was very very dry. Fried rice was the best.

Lunch specials great value. Recommended. Nice atmosphere. Child friendly.
Tried the peking duck for dinner. Twice now Best peking duck in Hamilton. Duck actually cut in front of you (rather than in the kitchen - So you see you are getting all the duck skin). Three plates of duck skin. That's extremely generous!
Tasty duck noodles.
Very Highly recommended!!

My partner and I have dined at Bamboo Basket many many times, partially due to tradition (we had our first 'date' here) and partially due to our love of soup dumplings. This year my birthday fell on a quiet Monday night so we thought we'd revisit our old favourite and made a reservation for 8:30pm.

We arrived a little early and were seated immediately by the waitress who promptly set about pouring us waters, showing us the menu and wine list etc. One thing I've noticed about Bamboo Basket is that the service never really changes, even on a Friday or Saturday night when the

This place is always busy so I thought why not..

My partner is vegetarian so the menu wasnt great for her but anything on the dumplings menu is pretty much over priced and not all that great quality.

You are definitely better off buying something off the meal menu because $50 of dumplings later we were still hungry so I'd advise skipping them

Ok but not great..Noisy and small, service was average considering our waitress didn't give two hoots about her job. So bad she brought us the wrong food order and we ate it lol

This place is amazing! Every dish top notch, the hot and sour soup was the best I have ever tasted worldwide. The Dim Sims were excellent but still hard to beat Melbourne. For a place that's located in the middle of a sea of restaurants. I would make an effort to start here.

This is a very fashionably decorated restaurant that even though it is not similar to the pushcart Dimsum places found in Hong Kong, the food is great!

Prices are a bit more costly than most places, but again comparing this to the United States and Hong Kong. The food was great! Everything comes out fresh in a reasonable amount of time. They have a good introductory variety of Dimsum but was hoping to find even more traditional Chinese dishes.

This place is just off of the attractions of South Beach, and represents a significant change in tone from the artificial play areas to a cool, somewhat upscale environment. It's one of the few places in Australia where I've had what I (as an American) would consider table service. Corresponding to the service and the location, it's a bit more costly than other places I've tried, which was really my only knock against it.

They've got a menu with clearly labeled vegetarian options, and if you don't want to go for the entrees, they have an extensive dim sum menu as

I have to say this is the clearest menu I have ever seen in any restaurant. The menu is color coded green for vegetarian dishes and has little markers for dishes that are gluten or common allergen free. It makes eating with a group of people with varied diets quite pleasurable. It is nice to immediately see all of the dishes we can order right away without having to read the ingredients in every single listed item.

All the dumplings I have had are quite good, especially the chili pork wontons. The scallion pancake, in my opinion, isn't quite crispy/caramelized enough, but this is just a minor

You can't go wrong with all day yum cha. Well, I guess you totally could, but fortunately Bamboo Basket has it right. The food is excellent and it's one of the few places where you can get xiao long bao (aka Shanghai soup dumplings. There's soup in the dumplings!).

We had some weird service, like taking a long time to bring out some items, while others came out right away, and then regular tea instead of jasmine (after several clear requests for jasmine tea), but nothing that made a serious impact on the experience. Otherwise totally enjoyable.

Delicious. Really enjoyed just about everything (except the chicken appetizer - not terribly interesting, and the soup dumplings weren't quite the right temperature). Quibbles are no dine-in lunch menu, difficult parking options (get a relationship with a nearby garage) and pretty seriously expensive tab. Good food, though, so I wouldn't hesitate to return (despite the impact to my wallet).

I have always walked past this restaurant quite a number of times whenever i'm in the area but have never decided to go here for lunch until now. We came as a group of 4 and arrived around 12.00. When we got there, we noticed that they had a variety of meals for you to choose from which was good to see. Another great thing I found with this restaurant was that it wasn't too busy for a lunch service and customer service was great as well.

We ended up ordering:
Beef Pancakes (would of gone even nicer with a sweet n sour sauce but other than that they were fantastic to eat)

We may have over ordered here but it was worth it. The bill for the four of us ladies came up to $113 but we were full and pretty content about it. We had:

Pork and prawn dumplings
Siao Loong Bao
BBQ Pork Buns
Boneless BBQ duck pancakes x 2 (they were a bit yum)
BBQ Flat Bread
Salt and Pepper Tofu (a lot more battered than in the picture on the menu)
Salt and Pepper Calamari (Quite the yum, smallish serving compared to landmark)
Mince and nuts on a bed of lettuce (kind of like san choy bao)
Green Tea
Lemonade
Water
Mango Cream Dessert

I'm pretty sure we ordered something else which has

Having passed this several times already, it seemed like a popular place, so we decided to give it a try. We each chose a dish and got the Braised Pork Belly in Dark Soy Sauce ((18.9) with the Steamed Flour Bun (4), as well as the Leek & Garlic Stir Fried with Lamb (22.9) with rice (3/bowl).

Jo was hesitant about the pork belly at first, since it's quite fatty - but I decided I wanted that, and it turned out to be quite good, besides my first piece, which was a bit dry. It tasted pretty authentic - maybe the closest I've had to authentic Chinese food in Brisbane so far, so I was

After reading a review that said service was patchy, I took no chances and ordered half a dozen dim sum and entree dishes as soon as we sat down.

The steamed Prawn & Pork dumplings ($7.90, 4pcs) were delicious, as was the Pan Fried Beef Pancake. We also ordered a flatbread - Egg & Chive and that was really tasty, and Salt and Pepper Calamari - amazing!

We kept ordered dishes as we slowly looked through the menu. And this worked really well for us. We were sharing all the food between the four of us, and this meant plates kept coming out at regular intervals.

Top marks to the owners of Bamboo Basket for their effective marketing strategy of showcasing their skilled chefs authentic skills noodle and dumpling making skills through a large glass street windows. There's something very appealing about being given that glimpse into their offering, and I'm happy to announce that the taste lived up to my anticipation.

I'm a huge fan of Asian dumplings -- from the steamed variety through to fried variants (like the delicious Japanese gyoza) -- and these guys do both very well. My partner is a vegetarian and she was happy to find a couple of vegetarian

Last weekend I caught up with three girlfriends who were visiting from NSW. We were wandering around Southbank and one of my friends said she had heard of a great Chinese place 'Bamboo basket'. Not having really eaten much Chinese, except for the takeaway variety, I was a little apprehensive. Taking a risk paid off, best lunch in ages!

We basically ordered a dumpling and spring roll feast. They provide a handy little tick box menu so you can sample a range of duck, chicken, prawns and vegetable dumplings in almost any flavours you could want. Most items come in fours so it was perfect
