Eltham Hotel
The Eltham Hotel has a rich history dating back to the late nineteenth century. It first opened as Watson's Hotel, a double-storied building constructed on the Main Road frontage circa 1887 for Christopher Watson. It has social and historical significance as an important meeting place within the Little Eltham township.

Over the years it has undergone refurbishments and renovations, all the while maintaining its old fashioned charm. Through the 1950s, the Eltham Hotel was a meeting place for artists, intellectuals and mud brick builders in the area, developing a distinctive local lifestyle at that time. These days, we offer a Family Bistro with plenty of options to satisfy guests of all ages.
Services
The Bistro at Eltham Hotel offers something for everyone. Our menu boasts a variety of share plates, salads, classic pub meals and regular specials on rotation. Make sure you keep up to date with our regular offers and specials; we've got something for everyone! The Sports Bar at The Eltham Hotel offers a relaxed and friendly environment perfect for catching up with friends or a relaxing drink.
The Eltham Hotel is the perfect place to host any social or corporate event, including celebrating a birthday, engagement or corporate meeting. We offer two great spaces that cater for groups of different sizes and budgets.

Located off Pitt Street with its own private entrance, heritage bar, private toilets, sound system and TV, The Watsons Room is ideal for meetings, presentations, conferences and small to medium sized cocktail parties and seated events. The Watsons Room can accommodate up to 60 people cocktail style, and up to 40 people for a sit-down meal.
We strive to be at the heart of our local community by providing a place for friends to meet, for families to relax and to host local functions and events. We are the unofficial 'clubhouse' for a number of local sporting teams - a place to re-convene after matches, sell raffle tickets, celebrate victories and commiserate losses.

First time we were back since pre covid. Not a great experience. We had two kids meals a parma and a grilled Barramundi. The fish serving was very small although taste was spot on, Parma was a good size but taste was below average I have to say, and would not recommend. Kids meals were ample. He menu said the kids meal came with a drink and dessert so when we asked for the dessert we were told its either drink or dessert. We checked the menu and our order on the meandu app and it clearly states drink and dessert is part of the deal. In the end the lady (maybe the supervisor) gave in and the kids

The service at Eltham was absolutely wonderful! A special mention to, Kaye, our waitress who gave us the most kindest service we have received at a restaurant in ages! She dealt with any issues that arose with such care and kindness. There definitely needs to be more waitresses like her! The food was also awesome! We will definitely be back :)

This was the Worst Xmas Lunch I have ever been toooo.. Hoisin Duck Pancake Cold and Teeny Tiny.. But worst of all was the Trio of Roast.. Came with Roast Veggies but really no roast potatoes.. oh a couple of us got one.. Maybe if the chefs learnt how to dish up bulk plates they wood portion it professionally.. You are a joke.. Food was cold.. Disappointed to say the very least.. we will not be back so don’t worry about the vouchers on the table with food and Dwink offers.. DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE FOR ANY READON!!!!! The Best Thing, actually the only thing Fabulous about it was The Lovely Waiting

A pub meal with restaurant flair. Staff work really hard to provide top quality pub food, with little waiting time, and a great bunch of staff keen to help and please the customer—a pleasant change from the "here's your food, tap to pay" mentality sweeping the city. Prices are great value for the quality and serving size, and there is a Seniors Menu for folks with a "not so huge" appetite. Our favourite booking is for a booth, but please don't take our spot. Great for families, celebrations and couples too. Book ahead for best results.

Well they have a very strange app ordering system which I simply didn't like.
The Steak that I'd ordered as medium rare came well done. My desert got lost in their new system. Given the money I spent not good enough

I recently went for a dinner at the Eltham Hotel before lock down no 5 ,after so many years of absense due to leaving the area..
I was pleasantly surprised by the hospitality and service of staff, special mention to the manager Brendan , we did not have a booking but he helped us out and put us in the Sports bar and we had a beautiful bistro meal...
The bistro was full with the maximum limit of people allowed, so Brendan suggested we use the bar...
Will be coming back on a regular basis
Thank you and keep up the good work.

I didn’t think 7:40pm on a Sunday night was too late to order considering kitchen closes at 8:30pm but appears I was wrong. Grazier pie was yum with chunky meat but cool in temperature, mash was horrible and gravy - blah.
Chicken schnitzel - chips cool to cold, oily taste to schnitzel, suggest oil wasn’t to temperature.
Beer is good 😀
2/3 staff were very efficient and friendly. Will try another few venues before returning. Maybe a bustling Saturday could be the go.

The first thing that caught my eye with this pub was the frontage. It is really old fashioned and something that I really like in a pub. However that completely vanished once I stepped through the front door. Basically this is your standard suburban pub with the standard clientele. It has a sports bar, a restaurant, and a pokies room, all trying to masquerade as a nice pub in a nice part of Melbourne. The thing with the restaurant is that it is supposed to be a family restaurant, however it is just down the corridor from the pokies room, which sort of undermines somewhat. The sports bar is, well

Fairly typical pub grub in a fairly typical pokies pub. I ordered the mixed grill burger and had to dissect the very tough steak with a knife and fork. The staff were friendly enough.

From the bistro - the meal was ok, I mean, it's relatively hard to stuff up a chicken parma - but it has been done before. The place was crazy loud for what it looks like. It's not a bad place for a meal - but not a destination.

From the large car park head straight past the bing and ping of the pokies area and straight for the large bistro and bar area. Once your gathered around a table head over to the small counter to order yourself a big serving a typical pub fare. Yes as a Yelper with a parma obsession I can totally recommend Eltham hotel chicken parmigiana.

The long bar is where you can get your drink on but don't expect beverage service at the tables. The drive through bottle shop at the rear of the hotel with allow you to keep the party going after the drive home.

There is a function room and beer garden
