Yoga is not about being flexible. We all must start somewhere. And while initially it may just be about the benefits you feel physically after doing yoga, with time, yoga becomes much more than that and essentially a way of life. Yoga becomes, for many, a journey of self-discovery. This journey is different for every single person.
Vinyasa yoga is a style of yoga where movement is linked to the breath. There is no set sequence of postures in vinyasa classes. Instead, the postures are free flowing and, combined together, form a central focus to the class. The class focus could be anything from hip or shoulder openers, to back bending, to inversions, or even focused around more alternative themes such as the moon or the sun, or one of the chakras.
This is a unique time in a woman's life that can feel wonderful for some, and for others totally the opposite. However, regardless of your pregnancy journey, it is only a short time in your entire life and one that needs to be honoured - so when you are tired and you feel that you need to rest, then rest!
Yin yoga is another type of yoga practice that is very beneficial to the body and is complementary to other forms of yoga and/or physical activity, which are commonly yang orientation. Yin yoga is a deeper stretch that stretches the connective tissue in the hips and lower back, creating more space in these joints.
