Established in Scarborough, Western Australia by Yvonne Henderson, sattva yoga ksetram is dedicated to teaching yoga following the holistic teachings of Sri T Krisnamacharya. Here, individual needs and abilities are respected for promoting health and wellbeing of body, mind and spirit. The word Yoga derives from the root yuj which has two traditional, complimentary meanings.
The first is "to bring two things together, to meet, to unite". The second is "to converge the mind". Various movements come together and converge with our attention. Another meaning may be even more important: "to reach a point we have never reached before". Something that is impossible at this moment becomes possible through yoga.

By incorporating some of the many tools yoga has to offer, a variety of practices can be experienced over a period of time. Yoga for strength & flexibility - Focus is on promoting flexibility and building strength in a dynamic approach with co-ordination of breath and movement. Yoga for body breath and mind - Extend your body, deepen your breath and enhance your spirit - a holistic approach using asana, pranayama and reflection.
Yoga Therapy encourages students to improve and maintain their own health and well-being. This is achieved by reducing symptoms, managing illness and stimulating the body's own healing process. As well as being beneficial as a daily practice, Yoga Therapy has proven to be one of the most effective complementary therapies.

Individual yoga therapy sessions with Yvonne have been life changing for me. Yvonne became my yoga teacher three years ago when I was suffering from chronic fatigue syndrome. The practices Yvonne developed for me have helped me manage my fatigue levels and improve my health and posture so that I could return to good health and to work. She's provided me with a daily practice that fits in with my lifestyle and what my specific needs are. Yvonne adapts my practice as my life changes and is always supportive of me. I really enjoy my lessons with Yvonne and am grateful to have her as my yoga teacher
