My family ended up staying for a week at Henry Jones. Our travel plans changed due to personal circumstances and the Henry Jones staff were at all times exceptionally accomodating and understanding to make sure we were looked after. The hotel has great charm from both the historical and art perspective and is very well located. Also worth noting the very high quality of the food at Landscape and on the room service menu.

For a family of 3 who have spent both the last 2 Christmas holidays here, I can say there perhaps is no better spot if you like to explore the most beautiful precinct of Hobart on foot. Having said that, I am inclined to try something else in the my next visit due to one very unpleasant experience with the floor manager on our last evening. Apart from that, the views of the waterfront along with all the beautiful eateries around, access to the Salamanca area and most of the CBD makes this a great choice. The biggest shout out goes to Matt and the team at the IXL Long Bar who not only make some

Pros
A beautiful old historic building with big exposed timber beams, oozing character and charm, and centrally located on the wharf at constitution dock.
Large room with a nice modern bathroom.
Great staff.
Cons
Our room was exceptionally noisy. Having the old tin roof with an open air ridge vent to the outside there was a huge electrical motor on the roof next to our vent that was extremely noisy. Virtually ducting that noise directly into our room. Crazy but true. And it was on 24 hours a day, day and night. It was never turned off. I went to reception and asked for ear plugs which they

I agree with other reviews that the cancellation policy was very out of step with other hotels - 30 days is ridiculous. We actually ended up staying , $750 per night was overpriced to be honest, nice location,
historic building but didn’t feel anything like a 5 star hotel. If you force people to stay (we tried to cancel 2 weeks before) then you will get 1 star reviews and that is frankly deserved.

Absolutely brutal cancellation policy. I gave 8 days notice with our plans ruined by Covid. As if that wasn’t stressful enough, there was no sympathy, understanding or refund from the hotel. Buyer beware. In the era of Covid crushing holidays in an instant, choose a more understanding hotel cancellation policy. No refunds if cancelled within 30 days. All our other hotels accepted cancellations with 48hrs or even 7 days notice.

Terrible cancellation policy! We did not receive our negative PCR results in time, and attempted to cancel our accommodation with several days notice. However we were told we were not entitled to a refund because we prepaid. This makes no sense given every other business in Tasmania were incredibly generous with refunding money. Their cancellation policy states you have to cancel 30 days in advance, which is absolutely impossible in the age of Covid with changing policies and border restrictions. Very disappointed.

Beautiful rooms, amazing service, and a great view.
The Henry Jones is close enough to the highway to be convenient, but far enough away to avoid most Highway noise.
Their valet service was great.
All around 10/10
I have no complaints
Would definately stay there again

10/10 recommend staying at this hotel if you are travelling to Hobart. The rooms are spacious and well-equipped, and the staff are all fantastic. The art and history tour is a must - and it's free for guests! Probably one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in.
