This is not a hotel. It is an apartment complex that individual owners rent out their units. Portobello is the management company that handles that. This creates poor quality control across the property. Some units are clean, others are below standard, some beds are comfortable and others are not. The staff at reception have really poor attitudes and no customer service. I asked for my credit card number to be removed from the registration card as it was printed in plain text, unsecured, along with my full name and home address. I was met with sarcastic replies and suggestion that I was going to

Room was absolutely filthy! sand and dirt all over the floor. Couch was sandy. beds were sandy. dirty bowls and cutlery. mirrors smudged and filthy (not just a little). what looks like blood on the ensuite floor. greasy looking side tables and coffee table with smudges and marks. it was like it wasn't cleaned from the last guests. like someone just… quickly emptied the bins and made the beds but didn't actually clean anything. We are leaving first thing in the morning we would leave tonight but we have 2 young children who need sleep. this room is just disgusting.

Our room was not clean, the floors where filthy as where the lounge chairs. We couldn’t use the fans because there was so much dust on them. Such a shame because apart from that it’s a nice place, although they do need to install some lifts to make it easier for people with prams and wheelchairs.

No hand wash or Sanitiser. Given we are currently in a global pandemic I would expect that our room would come equipped with antibacterial hand wash. But not 1 bottle was supplied in our apartment, nor was there any at the lifts. Which makes me wonder if any extra precautions are being made to clean any common areas. (???)
Our spa bath didnt work,… there was also mold in the ceiling. The apartments furniture was very outdated, but also there was alot of wear and tear to all furniture. Dining chairs were all but falling apart, the couch fabric had rips, outdoor furniture was broken. When

Our room on arrival was filthy...not just dirty. mouldy ceilings, shutters, curtains. tiles falling off, doors that wouldn't shut, lights that didn't work, toilet that most definately had not be cleaned and smelled like vomit...after politely complaining to reception we were given another room. This room was only slightly better...that is there… was no huge patches of mold on the ceiling above the bed. I went down to reception to demand money back so we could stay elsewhere but it was closed up by 12:30. Bizarre as checkin is after 2pm...perhaps that's why our rooms were so bad , we checked

This is a really simple, motel-style accommodation. The lagoon-style pool area is very cool, but the rooms and service are average. Our room was big, but it was musty, and had an inescapable old-sewer-mixed-with-chlorine smell. I had to get a scented candle. There's no room service/cleaning, and reception isn't open very often. But it's got a good proximity to the beach and shops/cafes.
