Services
Appointments run for 30 minutes and include a diagnostic consultation as well as treatment. Each of our physiotherapists see one patient at a time. On the day before your appointment, an SMS will be sent to your mobile phone number to remind you of your appointment time. You are not required to reply to this message.
Musculoskeletal injuries involve injuries to your muscle, joint, ligament, tendon or nerve. At Gungahlin Physiotherapy and Sportscare Centre, we treat a wide variety of conditions. We apply the latest clinal research to diagnose and provide evidenced based treatment for injured or painful areas of your body.
Whether you are a weekend warrior, elite sportsman or recreational exerciser, we have extensive knowledge and experience in treating a wide variety of sports injuries. We have worked with a range of sporting teams including the Australian Mens Hockey Team, ACT Comets Cricket Team, ACT Rockets Indoor Cricket Team and a number of local Rugby League and AFL clubs.
Pelvic stability can be a issue for many people and can be the root cause of many different pain complaints including (but not limited to); low back pain, buttock pain, coccyx pain, hip pain and/or groin pain. Here at Gungahlin Physiotherapy and Sportscare Centre our physiotherapists use evidence based manual therapy techniques and specific functional lumbo-pelvic retraining to help achieve optimal pelvic stability.
Post natally it can be very beneficial to have a check up at 6 -7 weeks although still beneficial in the first year. It is very important that your pelvic floor is activating correctly. Your abdominal muscles would also be assessed and checked for rectus diastasis (abominal seperation).
An appropriate strengthening program can be prescribed to help you regain optimal abdominal strength and lumbo-pelvic stability while ensuring you are protecting your pelvic floor.

I don’t have the words to say how grateful I am for Alana. She has been working with me on an ongoing injury and when I aggravated it this afternoon she stayed back past 7pm to see me. It wasn’t just a quick tape up, she spent over 30 mins trying to take the pain away. I highly recommend her. She is patient and so kind.

All the staff here are incredibly helpful and welcoming - the place actually has a “family business” feel to it. I regularly see Tyler Wong here and he’s terrific!! Very knowledgeable and I always leave feeling like we’ve accomplished something and that I’m making progress - happy to recommend this practice!!!

I've just had my 1st physio telehealth appointment and I was really impressed. The email link worked first time, the camera and sound were really great and having use of the white board in session was awesome.… My kids were less hassle in this telehealth session than in the rooms as I could entertain them better outdoors. I highly recommend doing these sessions for physio. I missed the massage... but I'll still do the home work! Thanks Amelia!!

I just had an online consultation with Amelia, my regular physio. I wasn't sure what to expect from it, but it was really good! Connecting and getting set up was easy, and then with the webcam Amelia could see me work through the exercises, and in turn show me what I exercises I can do now!
I'll be using it as a way to see Amelia again in a fortnight. It was so good to still be able to see Amelia despite the lock downs happening right now. It's great that Gungahlin Physio are trying to find new ways for people to access their services!

Before I went to see David, I had given up trying to fix my chronic back pain. But after a few sessions with him, he saved me from eternal pain. Honestly could not recommend him any higher. But make sure to book him early, with 2 appointments ahead of time, because he's so busy and popular. I have recommended him to all my friends and they all have been fixed! What I love is that once you've been rectified, he doesn't need you to come back every 2 weeks like chiro. It's a long term thing and will last forever. 10000 stars!
