Caper School of Performing Arts has been operating in the Hills District since 2003. Children from two years old to teens and everything in between can join a variety of classes including ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, acrobatics, contemporary, lyrical and musical theatre. Directors and sisters, Kate and Beth McDermott, established the school to offer premium dance tuition to pre-schoolers, recreational students and advanced dancers.
Caper School of Performing Arts is owned and operated by sisters, Kate and Beth McDermott. They first laid plans for opening a dance school when they were 10 and 12 years old but it was quite some time later than these dreams become a reality! Kate and Beth's philosophy is create the dance studio that they would have loved to attend when they were students.
The teaching team at Caper comprise an amazing group of individuals hand-picked for their rapport with their students and commitment to making their classes inspiring and educational. We are proud of the combined qualifications, teaching expertise and professional performance experience. However what we can't communicate in a simple biography is their wonderful personalities and humility and warmth they exude.
We operate dance classes in the Hills District six days a week (every day except Sundays). There are more than 150 weekly classes to choose from so you will be able to find something that perfectly suits your schedule. New students are offered free trial classes (as long as there are vacancies in the class).
Caper is the official location of READY SET DANCE and READY SET BALLET in Bella Vista, Hills District. Lots of rewards, incentives and collectibles given to students for encouragement and motivation. Ready Set Dance is a 60-minute dance class consisting of jazz, hip-hop, tap music and singing jam-packed with fun.

The only place to train in the hills. Kate and Beth have handled lockdown and COVID in such a professional way with the care of the students welfare always a priority. Making sure people were doubled vaxed before allowing them into the end of year concert eased my mind. Thank you ladies for providing such a safe and nurturing environment at such a difficult time

After 8 years I am pleased to no longer be wasting money on this business. Between the passive aggressive emails, the undeserved ego, the questionable facilities which barely meets the fire code, the treatment of separated fathers as third class citizens, concerts that drag on & lack the energy of the band in Robert Palmers “Addicted To Love” and… massively undeserved sense of entitlement, I am pleased my daughter has decided to no longer continue with the Cult of Caper. How this business survived lockdown I do not know, they certainly didn’t deserve to. Their on line
