The right advice is all important when buying, selling or running a business. The counsel of an experienced lawyer can make all the difference in helping you to make the right decisions. We are happy to do as much or as little as you like in assisting you. Sometimes a single conference providing written advice is all that is needed.
We act for both landlords and tenants in commercial leasing. We can tailor our leasing documents to your requirements and advise on a wide range of issues. Buying or selling a home is generally the largest financial transaction any family is involved in. It is an exciting and anxious time. We strive to advise and guide you through the whole transaction so that it is a satisfying experience.
A will is the most important document you may ever sign because it gives your assets to the beneficiaries you choose. In the past, most people owned all their assets personally. That is now not the case. For instance, superannuation accounts are not personally owned nor are interests in a family trust these are matters which must be considered in estate planning.
We act for both landlords and tenants in commercial leasing. We can tailor our leasing documents to your requirements and advise on a wide range of issues. Special laws apply to retail leases and it is important for both landlords and tenants to be aware of their respective rights. In many cases the applicable lease conditions are implied by the Retail Leases Act and cannot be found in the lease documents.
We encourage clients who are selling a business to contact us at the earliest opportunity. There are a number of important steps that can be taken to maximize the price of the business and to minimize the potential problems that can arise during the sale process. Early contact with us is also very important when buying a business.

This place was much better under Peter Simpson. I went to sell some property not too long ago. I had an issue with advice the real estate agent gave me; so I asked John Paul for legal advice. He more or less acted helpless, and continued to say how "real state agents try many tricks etc". What does a property agent know about the law compared to a property solicitor? Also, when it came to dealing with this law firm, 90% of the time the secretary would be the one who spoke to me and handed advice back and forth from the solicitor. I rarely got to speak to the actual solicitor. Pathetic.
