The Psychology Centre is a base for a group of independently practising psychologists who provide psychological treatment for people of all ages. We are all psychologists holding general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia and most are members of the Australian Psychological Society (APS).
We have a broad range of specialist skills and experience. All members of the Psychology Centre hold an area of practice endorsement from the Psychology Board of Australia in at least one specialist area. Treatment is provided for a wide range of acute and chronic difficulties, across the age span.

Services
Established in 1987 by a group of experienced psychologists, the Psychology Centre has provided a wide range of evidence-informed psychological services for the Tasmanian community since that time. Stephen has worked with children and families for most of his professional career, which started more than 35 years ago.
Psychologists are experts in human behaviour. They can help both mentally-healthy and mentally-unwell individuals find ways of improved function for their day-to-day lives. As well as dealing with mental health problems, psychologists help with everyday problems which can seriously affect quality of life, such as work stress, relationship issues, and coping with pain and chronic illness.
At the Psychology Centre we ensure our fees are fair, while providing accessible mental health advice. Fees are payable on the day, except where covered by a third party. Some private health funds also provide rebates for psychological services for members with Extras cover. For more information, check with your private health insurer.
During the first session your psychologist will discuss your issues with you, as well as the timing of appointments, fees and other matters such as confidentiality and privacy. You should feel free to ask whatever questions you wish. This is your time with a psychologist, and you are free to say as much or as little as you feel comfortable.
At the Psychology Centre, we provide supervision and consultation opportunities for psychologists and other professionals. Staff at the Psychology Centre provide a range of training opportunities to other professionals and organizations. Juggling professional and personal lives can be very demanding.
