Bulldogs have become one of the most popular groups of pedigree dogs in recent years. At Eltham Veterinary Practice, we have a special interest in Bulldogs, as Dr Steve Pryor has owned and bred them for several years. If the time has come for your pet to be euthanised or "Put to Sleep" we are here to help.
Eltham Veterinary Practice offers a home euthanasia service that helps pet owners manage this difficult time. Being at home, in a familiar and stress free-environment is something that you and your pet will really appreciate. Desexing is a highly recommended, and very safe, surgical procedure that offers many benefits for your pet's health.

Services
House calls are worth considering if your dog is difficult to get in the car, or if your cat is easily stressed by barking dogs when attending the practice. You may even have young children that are easier to occupy at home, giving you a chance to be more involved in your pet's checkup.
As with any visit to Eltham Veterinary Practice, your pet will be thoroughly examined and all of your pet's health concerns will be addressed by one of our experienced staff. Our Practice also has a full range of Wellness Diets, Veterinary Diets and Parasite control which can be brought to your house call if ordered at the time of your booking.

We carry a full range of Veterinary Pharmaceuticals in order to treat any diseases that commonly arise. Pets that have more unusual medication requirements are also promptly catered for via the next day service that most of our veterinary suppliers provide. Owners needing repeat prescription medication for their pets are best served by ringing ahead so we can prepare their medication and have it ready when they come in.
The stem cells used at Eltham Veterinary Practice are obtained from the excess fatty tissue from donor animals. Donor fat is often collected at the time that the animal is sterilised at a distant location. This tissue would otherwise have been discarded.
The tissue is collected aseptically, before being processed and cultured to isolate and increase the regenerative cells (including stem cells) before being cryogenically frozen and stored in liquid nitrogen.Every batch produced is subject to stringent safety and quality control procedures. The stem cells are then shipped to Eltham Veterinary Practice still in cryogenically frozen form and stored onsite in liquid nitrogen containers.

Having very expressive faces and big eyes is a big part of why so many people love Bulldogs.
In order to help achieve happy pets and calm households, Eltham Veterinary Practice offers a pet behaviour service. Whether your pet is a Japanse Chin that jumps up, a pheasant that plucks its feathers, or a cat that sprays your walls - or indeed any other small animal pet with behaviour that is a problem - Dr Steve Pryor and Dr Gus Braniff are here to help.

I bought my kitten for check ups and vaccination at this location. The first vet was fine, second vet though put high strength spot on without checking with me, making my kitten extremely sick for a week. Also my family was petting him not knowing he had spot on as well as VACCINES!!! Poor communication too. I sent an email and got no reply to my complaint. I will never go back here

We took our elderly cat (18yrs old) she had another stroke and we knew that it was the end. They staff were so fantastic and supportive.
They were fully booked when I called and once I explained the reason I was calling they were able to squeeze us in.
So professional and really felt their heart felt condolences towards us. They gave our girl a lovely and dignified last moments. Thank you, it meant everything to us.

Dr Gus had been the most caring and warm vet that we have ever encountered. Our dogs Radar and Pablo are so important to us, so finding a practice with staff that we trust and fantastic facilities has been such a comfort. Gus always takes the time to answer every question and to patiently explain his findings, he is kind and gentle with the dogs and makes every effort to make each visit a nice experience for them. We are grateful for the wonderful service and could not recommend all at Eltham Veterinary Practice highly enough!

I recently decided to change my vet as a dog owner, I was not pleased with the attention, I had been getting at the previous Veterinary Practice.
I have used that service for over 12 years.
I had read the various good revues of the Eltham Veterinary Practice, so decided to make that important change. Sadly, after attempted treatment, my dog had to be euthanized.
In retrospect, I am annoyed with not changing vets much earlier. I was most impressed by each and every member of the great team at the Practice. They were all so caring they actually listened to me, they were able to see my beloved

I've recently moved to the area and was very nervous about trying a local vet again after negative experiences from local clinics had led me to trusting only the Lort Smith. With a new samoyed puppy needing only routine checkups we opted to try for something closer. Our experiences have been wonderful, from organising puppy school to all her first consultations. The women on the front desk were beyond helpful, and the vet we saw (Melanie) was incredible. She was thorough, very forthcoming with information and took as much time as was needed to ensure all topics regarding her future care, diet and
