Services
For almost 150 years, Coogee Bay Hotel has hugged the stunning coastline of Coogee Beach. As a bustling seaside village grew up around us over the decades, locals made this place the heart of their community. We've grown along with Coogee, from a neighbourhood pub to a thriving hub of food, drink, accommodation, sport, entertainment and shopping, around an outdoor beachside oasis.
An ancient story; a new vision - Marrah is our culinary centrepiece, bringing Coogee's long tradition of good food and drink to the heart of today's vibrant seaside village. Score an ocean view table at Marrah Bar or slip into a booth at Marrah Restaurant - Regardless, come join us, eat well, and drink well!
Occupying the generous front section of our venue, overlooking iconic Coogee Beach - Marrah Bar offers space to relish any occasion or mood. With curated cocktails, an exciting wine list designed to encourage exploration, live entertainment, share plates, a decor giving a subtle nod to our rock n' roll past and an unpretentiousness that is true to our community; Marrah Bar is unmistakably Sydney and completely Coogee.
In the Sports Bar we live for the buzz, the banter, the electric atmosphere of a big game - and those heart-stopping moments when it's all on the line. If you love sport too, this is your home ground. We take sport seriously. Our round-the-clock live sports action guarantees you won't miss a minute, whether you're a footie fan, tennis tragic or cricket nut.
At Coogee Bay Hotel we've created a hotel experience that is tailored for the guests that want to travel in style but don't want to lose the warmth of home. We offer two distinct accommodation styles which deliver unique seaside experiences. Feel the coastal flow in our playful, newly renovated Coogee Bay Rooms above the main bar or relax in our spacious and beautifully appointed boutique rooms at our 4 star hotel.

Checked in and politely showed vaccination to security at entrance as requested. My vax proof is a printout from Priceline Pharmacy because MyGov still hasn't uploaded the deets. Accepted everywhere, including here on previous visits. Security told us he'd have to get the manager because they don't accept paper proof. What? You did last week...and the week before that... not only that, the guy was so rude to us and treated my friend and I like garbage. We were planning to have dinner and drinks but left and went elsewhere. Management should make sure whoever is at the front entrance is better informed

What a shame, had a lovely meal then asked for a take away box to be told the chef is refusing to give the staff one because there too busy bringing out food and to complain to a manager. After complaining to a manager still no joy as staff told to just bring out food. After a 20 minute wait and the staff avoiding me I said I’m going no where till I get my pizza box. What a ridiculous and unnecessary end to what would of been a nice meal just because of some ones bad attitude.

Always a personal favourite even with covid, warm day, nice music. Always brings a good crowd to the pub. Good selection of drinks and food, quick enough service. Plenty of outdoor setting, smoking or non smoking. Sometime you can catch a DJ playing or just someone playing a guitar 🎸 with a solo singer. What ever mood you have it can be filled. So close to the beach and best location in my eye's. Maybe you might even bump into me one day.

Sat in the courtyard and ordered food from the bar. It was awful and overpriced. All the chips were undercooked and cold. Pizza bases were burnt and stale. Nothing was fresh and all seemed straight from the freezer. It seems like they’ve tried to cut every possible cost and get the cheapest possible supplier whilst still having a really high price. No value at all.
I feel for the staff, they seemed hectic and exasperated. They couldn’t help with our food complaints.

The pub has a great atmosphere and very friendly staff. As I entered the pub I was welcomed kindly and was able to find a seat without a worry.
However, my friends ordered from the bistro, and overall had the worst experience we have ever at a pub or restaurant alike. Firstly, the “300g steak” was poorly cooked, clearly less than 300g and dry! Secondly, the salad was only lettuce and was tiny in portion size. Lastly, the chips were undercooked and not very tasty. Hands down the worst! And I don’t say this lightly, but this was the worst restaurant experience I have ever had!
I will not

Great pub. New restaurant where selina's was is a bit average (you're left asking "where is the rest of the menu") but onthe whole the beer garden and facilities are top notch, as always

Our work Christmas party was at a near by restaurant. We decided to come here for drinks afterwards.
I asked if I could arrange a bar tab (to avoid standing at the bar paying for drinks all night) was told no. When I asked why. The bartender said “well, everyone else has to stand at the bar and buy drinks” there was 35 of us and hardly anyone else as it was pouring with rain. They also didn’t do shots and stopped serving cocktails at a certain time.
Don’t come here if you want to spend money. They clearly don’t want it.
They stated they would only do a bar tab if I had organize pre

Not gonna leave a bad rating because the security handled things really well but I reckon it’s about time to retire the no Tn rule. It’s outdated and discriminatory, I just wanted a quiet beer in the courtyard after a long day at work and was denied because of my shoes. It semi turned me off what I consider a really nice pub.

Good atmosphere. Fun menu and good service. Chicken burg was a miss, but the Marg on tap was great. Cheaper than other venues nearby but not wildly so.

Well-designed beer garden in which to spend a warm, sunny day, complete with big table umbrellas so that you're not sitting entirely in the sun. Plus an indoor sports bar, an indoor eating area if you can't get a seat outside or if it's too cold, another indoor bar at which they have live music on weekend evenings, and a good-sized live music venue that isn't used much any more but in its day hosted bands whose names you'd know, before most people knew them.

The food they serve is pretty much all designed to go well with alcohol (no surprise here). They offer pub standards

Place is in great location. Food and facilities are good. I'm only giving it three stars as staff in sports bar barely acknowledged me (I was only one at counter) and they continued to have their conversation whilst servings me. Also if ur gambling on horses/dogs etc then none of the tvs were on at 5pm on a Tuesday.

Used to live 150 meters from "The Cooge"... spent my first night and my last night in Australia there. I would normally give it 4 stars but it gets a one star bump for all the fond memories.
This place has everything (literally, it's huge) from a sports bar to live music, from outdoor patios to a dance floor. We would come here for a relaxed drink with friends and or we would come here to drink excessively. We often stopped by after coming back from the city... if we got in... They let us watch the Champions League Final here until 6:00 am.
It's definitely the kind of place

Saturday night and the floors are sticky, the music is pumping and the vibe is seedy.... thats my Coogee Bay Hotel experience....Yes, it was fun when I was a teenager, watching the boys with sleaky greasy hair as we pranced around in stilettos, but now our skirts are longer, our self esteem higher but the same greasy hair boys are still there reminding us - somethings never change...

For a cool summer drink during the day its fine to hangout but if you like a little bit more of an up market ambience I'd avoid the weekend evenings especially as people are just here to party, and at some point

The beer garden at Coogee Bay Hotel is its stand out feature. A spacious open courtyard that overlooks Coogee Beach, it's filled with long wooden benches and spanning white umbrellas and is clearly the beach-side venue of choice on a sunny summer afternoon. And with Strongbow, Five Seeds and Bulmers ciders on tap, as well as a fridge full of Rekorderlig, Monteiths and Strongbow's entire range, their cider and courtyard combo is hard to beat. If you don't want to risk the sun-stoke and alcohol combo, they also have bottles of Bundaberg Ginger Beer, not just your watery, tasteless
