Family law is the legal specialty that focuses on matters involving family relationships including children/parenting arrangements, divorce and division of property. At Trapski Family Law, we try to make the process as smooth as possible by providing pragmatic advice so you are clear as to the options available to you.
Separating from your partner is more than just the emotional separation - there is also the need to separate your assets and liabilities. We can assist with dividing your asset pool, regardless of whether it is small or large, or from a short or long relationship or marriage. We help review your assets as the bigger picture including noting what assets exist, disparities in income capacity, how and where did they come from, and who needs it.
Following at least 12 months of separation, you can file for divorce and legally dissolve your marriage. We can also assist with the application for reduced court costs for those eligible. Our advice is honest and pragmatic, and we want you to be fully aware of the process of filing for divorce. Divorce may end the legal marriage, but does not impact the status of your children and assets.
We have extensive experience at dealing with intervention orders, either as an applicant or a respondent, where we are already assisting you with family law matters. Our lawyers can assist at every step of the process, including advocacy in court if required, whether you are the applicant or respondent.

Had booked an appointment 2 weeks in advance and got a call one day before. They cancelled on me with no good reason whatsoever, I called in the next day to talk to the principal to let them know that this cancellation will be costly for me, they tried to argue and started to ask me to reveal some confidential information about my court case. From my experience, I find these people to have a poor approach to business practice and poor understanding about confidentiality.
