Food was decent, £17.95 for a Sunday lunch. Steep but decided to pay it and was ok, better than an average Sunday lunch but I have eaten better during my time. The reason the stars tumble is because I had a pint of larger. Can't recall the brand but a standard mainline brand. £6 per pint. I don't need to say anymore.

My partner and I went there for a birthday meal on 7th January in the evening. We ordered drinks and a meal. The portion of meat was small and there was hardly any veg, mostly carrots. In the veg dish for my partner there was a few carrots and some burnt cabbage. They also gave my partner the wrong wine and tried to charge £10 50 for the glass of wine. We had a better meal 2 weeks earlier at the greyfisher pub nearby for half the price. The Rose and Crown hotel is over rated and over priced and they need a better chef with more generous portions of food for the prices they are charging. I give

Nice hotel on the river. Picturesque views from the restaurant and bar. Good outside space. Nice old building with character. Did not stay overnight so cannot comment on the rooms.

Had a lovely stay here in order to watch the Sarum lights. The staff were very friendly the room was very clean and it was reasonably priced. As you can see from the picture with a lovely room overlooking the river. If there were any negatives about the stay there was a fusty smell in the room when we arrived, obviously being on the river it must be damp, but this was a unpleasant smell that perhaps the hotel can deal with with an air freshener. Additionally, the soundproofing from the room above was poor you could hear people walking around quite clearly, luckily we had a quiet couple, but a family

We held our Association Christmas Lunch at the Rose and Crown. Rachel the Events Manager was very accommodating and helpful throughput the booking and organising process and really went the extra mile to ensure our needs were catered for. On the day the hotel team made us feel very welcome. The lunch itself was very good quality and the service was excellent too. I'd recommend the venue to anyone looking to hold a similar function, the location and facilities were great.

Lovely room, very comfortable with a door opening to a small patio with a table and 2 chairs. Friendly staff, well looked after by Franc the restaurant manager, and staff on reception. Would certainly recommend it for a nice relaxing place to stay

Stopped in this fabulous hotel last night.
I have no idea how anyone can not give this 4-5*. From the start the staff are amazing, friendly, very helpful and welcoming. Our room is beautiful with super-king size bed and doors in to a patio overlooking the river a few feet away. Spotlessly clean and incredibly comfy. Food was delicious, breakfast great quality and plentiful. Well done Rose and Crown. Cannot wait for a return visit 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

In a lovely location on the banks of the Avon, with a view of Salisbury Cathedral spire, this is an historic medieval Inn with a modern extension. Within walking distance of the city, and reasonably priced it's worth a visit. Our spacious room was on the ground floor with French doors onto the garden. Meals have to be prebooked due to kitchen staff shortages - but the service was excellent. Staff are friendly and helpful. Would love to come back.

We were made to feel welcome from the moment we stepped into the premises.
The lady on reception who dealt with us was very friendly, putting us immediately at ease.
She was very professional and efficient, and we were soon in our room, which was lovely...
and cleaned to a high standard.
We were promptly served in the dining room, and the food was lovely, also.
Looking forward to our meal tonight!!
We're already looking to come back.
Salisbury is a very beautiful place to visit.
