Services
Sometimes our furry friends become unwell or do something that just isn't quite normal for them. At times like this it's good to know you can ring Manuka Vet Hospital and we can make a time to see your pet. Usually we can see them within 48 hours for non-urgent matters and in cases of emergencies then we can organise to have them seen straight away.
Michael is a Senior Small Animal Partner in the practice. He graduated from Sydney University in 1987 and after five years in country practice, started the Bateman's Bay Veterinary Hospital. After five years of very successful practice, was recruited as the Director of Canberra Vet Hospital that he managed for 17 years and joined the Manuka team in 2012.
We have a friendly, patient-orientated reception area. Our reception staff consists of our dedicated and trained veterinary nurses, so any medical queries or emergencies can be dealt with in a prompt and appropriate manner. Our reception team are happy to make appointments for you and your pet, arrange admission for procedures, order medications, provide advice and sell non-prescription medications and foods.
Our clinic undertakes a range of surgeries, from desexing to orthopedic and soft tissue surgery. We have a sterile surgical theatre, fully equipped with a gaseous anaesthetic machine and anaesthetic monitoring equipment. All animals are given the highest standard of care at Manuka.
Pets coming in for surgery are examined before their procedure and receive pre-operative pain relief, post-operative pain relief and ongoing pain relief following their procedure. All animals receive intravenous fluid therapy during their anaesthetic to help support them during their procedure and ensure speedy recovery.

The role of the x-ray machine in the diagnosis of numerous conditions is vital. We have a new, high quality digital x-ray machine which allows us to take accurate x-rays and rapidly assess bone, soft tissue and other internal (or foreign) structures. On site at Manuka Veterinary Hospital we have a wide range of clinical pathology equipment allowing us to promptly assess your pets issues and needs.

They were soooo wonderful!!! I am taking my little Aussie rescue cat to the US and needed a rabies shot for him. I thought it would take weeks/months to order, but they had me in within 3 days!! They gave him a thorough once over and really calmed his nerves. These vets are top notch!! Boss thanx you!!

My poor old Border Collie has had a skin problem for a while now. I googled vets in Canberra who deal in dermatology. I came across Manuka Veterinary Hospital and a vet named Michael Archinal. Michael knows his stuff. My dogs skin is almost completely healed. I would definitely recommend this Vet to anyone who has a pet with a skin problem. The staff are very friendly, caring and helpful too.

I'm so glad I discovered Manuka Vet Hospital. They have been amazing for my two dogs! They are always so thorough and professional, and everyone is also so friendly! Would strongly recommend to anyone who wants nothing but the best for their animals. We've been seeing Dr Clare Hibberson, who is fantastic and very knowledgeable, but when we have been unable to see Clare the other vets have always been great also. You can just tell everyone at the practice loves animals, and want the best for yours.

I have used this practice for some 5 years now. It is outstanding in all respects.
Skills and experience of veterinarians are of a very high order, complemented by quality nursing and other staff.
They are professional and courteous at all times and take care with pets and other animals.
I have no hesitation in recommending this practice to Canberrans or those living in the wider Canberra region.
