Services
Sturt Road Physiotherapy was founded in 1999 by a Physiotherapist who was local to the area. In 2005, Simon and Kate Kennedy took over the business. Kate grew up in the area and still lives in the area with her husband Simon and 2 young boys. Being local to the area means we are committed to the community and our reputation is vitally important to us.
Simon completed a Bachelor of Applied Science in Physiotherapy in 1998 at the University of South Australia. His training and experience in emerging research fields such as fascia, chronic pain and how exercise can powerfully influence pain and the brain has led to him to focus his interests on complex and persistent pain presentations.
All our Physiotherapists at Sturt Road Physio and Chandlers Physio have training in Dry Needling as a treatment approach for musculoskeletal conditions. Acupuncture and Dry Needling involves using a fine, sterile, filament needle to get specific reactions in the muscle or fascial tissue. Dry needling can be very effective in relieving pain, reducing muscle tension and improving function.
At Sturt Road Physio we run several types of Physiotherapy Exercise Classes. They all use Pilates Informed exercises as well as many other rehabilitative exercises that are individualised to your injury needs. All sessions are run by Physiotherapists which means that you will have an injury-minded professional guiding your Exercise Rehabilitation experience.
Our Physfit sessions are run with a maximum of 6 participants only and that means you get maximum attention and value. Physfit sessions focus on both Cardiovascular Fitness as well as functional strength trainingto rehabilitate injuries or manage chronic pain. The intensity and type of exercises is tailored to suit each individuals needs and goals.

Kate and Simon and their team are fantastic, they always go the extra mile to get you up and going with minimal need to make repeat appointments. The admin staff are friendly and the physios are up to date with all the best ways to get you mobile and pain free, including dry needling, which works well for me. Kate almost single-handedly got me through my 3rd and 4th pregnancies with her care and management of my ailing body. If I could give 10 stars, I absolutely would without question.
