Standing on the site of the original stone cottage built in 1833, it was known as "Ye Olde Greengate Inn". The early structure lives on in the hotel identity - a five-barred gate painted green - which is still in existence today.

Looks like I'm not the only one that has had a bad experience with the short, bald security guard! Someone should tell the guy that he works at a pub and he's not guarding the Korean demilitarised zone. Perhaps remind him that it's not a sacred privilege to patronise the greengate hotel, rather that we are the reason they are open.

Probably one of the most disgusting places I have ever been to. When I say disgusting I mean the way they treat their patrons it is appalling. If you want to go to a place where the security (Tony) is beyond rude and yells at you for no reason...power tripping... Greengate is the place to go. Not to mention they do not know how to wear a mask.... so much for a covidsafe venue. Might contact crimestoppers I am so appalled!

The Greengate Hotel is located on the corner of Pacific Highway and Greengate Road in Killara. There is limited patron carparking spaces at the hotel and street parking in Greengate Road is also available.
On entry to the pub you enter their sports bar where there is a large TV. Meals can b e ordered from the bar. On Monday you can have a $15 steak. On Thursday, $15 burgers are available.
The pub has a wide selection of beers on tap.
Try the Stone & Wood Pacific Ale, that's pretty nice.
