Services
Over the many years of study and practice, I have come to understand that change is brought about by an exploration of a person's subjectivity. Our subjectivity (our innermost, personal experiences and reality) is the place where we live alone and in private, where we experience our most genuine emotions in our lived experiences, and in relationship with others.
It is primarily because we want to understand our behaviour and/or we want to change our behaviour. To do this we need to embark on a complex and dynamic process of self- awareness and self-discovery, which allows for the possibilities of change. We may also seek counselling as a consequence of feeling lost, desolate and unsupported, and at crossroads in our lives, and where we can begin to get a sense of what it means to live authentically.
We all experience varying degrees of discontent, resulting in emotional and psychological instability. Seeking counselling is generally initiated as a need from deep within ourselves. A need that calls out, to understand and explore why we feel so distressed and dislocated in our lives.

Remaining confused with meaning and purpose in our lives or just becoming tired with the relentless burden that arises out of this confusion often brings a person to seek counselling.Counselling is a personal matter, which requires the development of a personal relationship. People often seek counselling with hope, that is often underpinned by a deep sense of shame and/or guilt that is evoked in the process of therapy.
I will only discuss these matters with my clinical supervisor, as this is an ongoing requirement for maintaining professional registration with the peak professional bodies of Psychotherapy and Counselling in Australia (eg., PACFA and ACA). If there are indications of suicidal intent or serious self-harm, our confidentiality agreement will not be broken.
Whilst my counselling fees are not refundable from Medicare, you will find that they are equivalent to or less than the rebate you will receive from a Clinical Psychologist, which is generally in the vicinity of $120. If you are facing financial difficulties, a discount can be negotiated. Payment is by cash, credit card or by direct deposit into a nominated bank account.
