Your problems may be serious, debilitating ones that you have struggled with for a long time and think that it is time to get help. Or you may be generally successful and high functioning but are troubled by feelings, behaviours and thoughts that prevent you from functioning to your full capacity or from feeling happy and fulfilled.
Medicare rebates for psychology services are available under the Better Access to Mental Health Care initiative. The scheme provides considerable rebates allowing greater access to psychologists and more affordable mental health care. Dementia, delirium, tobacco use disorder and mental retardation are not regarded as mental disorders for the purposes of this initiative.

I came here a few times and it was one of the worst things I have ever done. Every visit she would make me feel unwelcome and dumb for seeking out the help I desperately needed for my issues, and seemed confused about why I was there.
Counselling did not seem specific or personalised and in a lot of cases I was given readings I could have found online and then chastised later for not reading them all (I reiterated a number of times that I have very limited free time) this felt odd to me and like rather than spending the time I paid good money for to work on things, it was easier to brush me aside

Do some research and please go to a different organisation. I had a complaint that they wouldn't discuss with me in person. I had been a client for 10 months, attending once a week. I have since lodged a complaint, with the Office of the Health Ombudsman, which has now been referred to AHPRA - the governing body for healthcare providers. It is unacceptable to not take seriously their duty of care to clients when terminating services. Further, it is unacceptable under any circumstances for a male therapist to hug a female client!
