Services
Our innovative recovery model T.R.E.E (Trust, Release, Empower, Educate) is based on the latest research in the neurobiology of trauma and the experiences of over 8,500 survivors. The Heal For Life program works because it helps guests get to the root of their trauma, providing them the time and space to deeply connect with and express their emotions.
We're here because we've experienced first-hand the transformational power of healing from childhood trauma, and we genuinely care about helping others to experience their own healing too. Our team is diverse, from peer workers and youth workers to psychologists and counsellors, to academics and administrators.
90% of public mental health service consumers have experienced one or more incidents of trauma. Trauma and severe stress are known to trigger, exacerbate, and in some cases cause other mental illnesses which can have devastating impacts on a person's relationships, employment and physical health. It causes changes to the brain which affects how we think, process emotions and behave.
We want to walk beside you and support you as you understand that abuse is not your fault, learn how to heal, and to better know yourself. Do you feel your spirit is broken inside from violence, abuse, loss, bullying, discrimination and racism? First Australian men and women are invited to attend First Australians-only programs, Gender-specific programs and Mixed group programs.
Our psychologists and counsellors are trained in the Heal For Life model of trauma recovery. We honour the survivor perspective and your own self-knowledge to ensure you find safety, understanding and hope in our services. Some of the common challenges we support people to heal from include depression, anxiety, relationship issues, self-harm, eating disorders and substance abuse.
