Dr Ali joined the Frenchs Forest Dental team in 2016. With 15+ years of clinical experience and having worked in dentistry across many parts of Australia, he has now settled permanently here in the beautiful northern beaches. Dentistry is not just work for Dr Ali but also his passion. Dentistry combines two of his most favourite interests; human biology and basic principles of civil engineering (at a micro level).
Regular patients of Frenchs Forest Dental may have noticed a recent changing of the guard.
Former principal Dr Malcom Ritchie, who established the practice in 1977, had been searching for the right person to hand over the reins to and found the answer in Dr Ali Shakoori, who has gained much valued experience working in many different regions of Australia, from Alice Springs, to the Gold Coast, Lismore and then to Dubbo in the central west NSW, before deciding to settle here in Frenchs Forest.

A dental implant is one of the most common dental procedures. It is an artificial or synthetic tooth root. Dental implants need to be surgically anchored into your jaw to hold the replacement tooth or dental bridge in place. They're permanent and stable. They're also perfect for resolving tooth loss problems.
The primary purpose of a dental crown is to completely cap or cover a damaged tooth or placed over a dental implant. Moreover, it can improve the appearance, alignment or shape of the tooth. Ceramic or porcelain dental crowns can easily match the colour of your natural teeth. Crowns are manufactured from a wide range of materials, including Zirconia, V.M.K, and gold crowns.
Inlays and onlays provide a robust, functional, durable, and better looking restorative solution for a damaged tooth that may otherwise have been lost. The difference between inlays and onlays is that an inlay fills the space left by removing an amalgam filling when the remaining tooth structure is still strong.

My family have been coming to this practive for over 50 years.
Through both Dr Malcom Ritchie and Dr Ali, i have had half of my wisdom teeth currently removed, with the other half scheduled to be removed shortly, and it was the least painful and traumatic experience anyone in my family has had with our wisdom teeth. I had both out within an hour and was back at work on Monday after a late Saturday afternoon surgery.
Dr Ali and his team are exceptionally warm, professional and trusting, and i will continue to reccommend this practice to everyone i know.

Malcolm has been my dentist for over six years. The crown he gave me received praise and admiration from dentists when I was overseas. I've always found Malcolm and his staff to be professional, competent and friendly. Never any pain or discomfort during or after surgery. I'm very happy to recommend Malcolm and his team. 5 out of 5 stars!
