Services
Our dental practice is warm and welcoming, and you'll notice it has a very calm atmosphere. It is set in a gorgeous Art Deco house in Frenchs Forest, and we have been serving the local community for the last 11 years. Our general dental practice is family oriented, and we love to see patients of all ages, but we do have a special interest in cosmetic dentistry, and in creating beautiful smiles for our patients.
Di is our practice manager who oversees staff management and the administrative side of the busy practice. She considers herself very lucky to have been involved with the Blue House Dental practice for 10 years. Di is highly experienced with over 20 years of experience under her belt. Di understands the anxiety that many patients feel when visiting the dentist as she herself have undergone quite a few dental treatments.
I have gained over 10 years' experience in the dental industry, starting my career as a dental assistant and then in 2015 obtained my bachelor degree in Oral Health from the University of Newcastle. As a dental hygienist my role is to assist patients to optimum oral health through education, oral hygiene instruction, treatment of gingivitis and periodontal disease, as well as routine scale and cleans.
Our cone beam scanner is an extremely useful piece of equipment for showing 3-D images of the bones and soft tissues in your head. We will recommend a CT scan if you intend to have dental implants, or if you have problems with your temporomandibular joints (the joints that move your lower jaw). A CT scan can also be useful when planning wisdom teeth extractions, and for evaluating infections or cysts, or for planning root canal therapy.
If you badly chip a tooth or it has a substantial cavity, we may recommend crowning it. Crowns are used to repair and restore teeth badly damaged by decay or trauma, completely covering up the remaining tooth structure, protecting it against further harm. Your new crown can be made from a choice of high quality materials including precious metal alloys and natural looking porcelains.

Blue House Dental offers the best care and treatment you'll find anywhere. My family has been going here for over 10 years and between us have had cleans, root canals, fillings and crowns. Treatment is comfortable, painless and results are excellent.
My dentist Dr Nicola Smith is so good I nearly fell asleep in both of my recent root canal treatments. She explains the process clearly and puts you at ease quickly.
The dentists here often can put a thin waterproof dam over the tooth so you don't get the water running down your throat, and the assistant is always very attentive. A crown can be done

Have been seeing Dr Nicola Smith for a number of years and just so pleased to have access to such a fab health professional. She has a very gentle manner, is incredibly knowledgeable, is patient with answering questions and great with keeping my children calm and happy throughout their checkup. We always leave with a smile.

My first visit to Blue House Dental was 12 months ago when I needed a tooth extracted. I have since followed up with an implant. The staff are all fantastic! They are all genuinely caring people and show great concern for patient comfort. David keeps you informed about what he is doing at all stages. They are so good that I would actually look forward to my dental appointments. The icing on the cake was that the cost of my implant was significantly less than quoted even including heath fund rebates. I have since had other friends confirm that my experience is not unique.
