Bowen Hills Exhaust & Car Care is a family-owned business that began in 1978. We're still owned and operated by the same family. Over our years of trading we have seen many milestones and changes to cars, and have focused on giving priority to current techniques and modern motoring.

Sometimes brakes can be unsafe without it being obvious to the driver and therefore, we recommend that you book your car or truck in for a regular brake service. We use quality brake components, guaranteeing maximum braking performance and safety for Australian road conditions. We use a full range of brake pads, rotors and drums as well as hydraulics from trusted brands such as Bendix.
Even though we service and repair all types of cars, our mechanics specialise in mufflers and exhaust systems. Regardless of whether you drive a standard Ford or a fully modified vehicle, we know very well what type of exhaust system your car needs. We are a proud family business with over 30 years of experience installing new and repairing old exhausts and mufflers.
We check all parts of the system, ensuring a safe and long ride in the Brisbane summer heat. Your car's cooling system circulates coolant (water plus antifreeze) to reduce heat around your engine. Coolant moves through the engine where it picks up heat; the heated coolant passes through the radiator where the heat is transferred to the surrounding air.

Cannot recommend Stuart and the team enough, after holden quoted me $4000 plus labour to replace exhaust system i took it to BHE for a second opinion, Stu looked over it and fixed it for free for me no replacement was even required, car is now purring. Such a top bloke, cant thank them enough. 🙌

Big thank you to Bowen Hills Exhaust. Handy location for sure, which is what put me there to start, but now I’d travel a long way to get serviced here. The new exhaust is mint and the Mini has a superb note to it now. I had a few extra jobs on top of that which were a little left field. Stuey and the team took care of it like the professionals that they are. The results are top quality and the price is better than competitive. Absolutely recommended.

I was worried my car had a leak because I saw some spill in my garage. I went to Bowen Hills Exhaust & Car Care to get it checked. They were super quick to inspect my car and did the inspection for free.
Turns out my car was absolutely fine. A very professional mechanic explained to me and reassured me that my car has no leak. On leaving from their workshop, I felt relieved and happy.

These guys are AMAZING! Totally up front, incredible turn around time, excellent people skills. Friendly and honest, and at times they won't even charge you for little, simple fixes - I just had my fan belts tightened completely free or charge!
If you need someone who'll get your car back to you same day or overnight, these guys are your best shot. This is a company that really, genuinely cares about its customers.

Had my muffler changed for a reasonable price by someone that seemed passionate about his job. Was booked in within half a week and the whole process was done in half a day. Had simple explanations of what can be done and how much it would cost. The man told me that he tried out 4 or 5 different mufflers to get the sound juuuuust right and he definitely did just that! Will be recommending to others.

These guys are wonderful, especially Stewart/Stuart (sorry, I didn't catch the spelling!). I searched for mechanics, saw the high Google Map rating, and drove there while in the area when my 'check engine' light suddenly came on. They checked my car, free of charge, on the spot and located the potential issue within 20 minutes.
I booked my car in for a couple of weeks later, where they even called me prior to doing any work to ensure I was happy to proceed. Considering the amount of work they did, I paid close to nothing.

If you're looking for an honest, skilled mechanic, then look no further. This place does excellent work, and has always given me a fair price. For example, I took my car here awhile back for an oil change and to get my brake pads replaced. Well, rather than take my money, they recommended I wait another 6 months to do the brakes since they still had some life left in them. That kind of integrity is rare in the auto repair industry. I highly recommend this place.
