Sea Shanti
Remember when holidays at the seaside were simple and fun? When Dad could fish, Mum could relax with a book and the kids could walk barefoot to the shop for an iceblock or to the beach to play cricket, when the family actually talked and laughed and played games together. Of course the family dog came along too in those days.

Recapture the simple pleasures at Sea Shanties, Amity Point. Where next for a quiet, Tasmanian holiday? Sassafras Springs must be the healthiest, happiest and most relaxing place to stay in Tasmania! All the fun of camping without the hassles of erecting a tent or packing the Esky. Seven basic cabins shaded by hundred year old Pines and Pandanus on an acre of absolute waterfront.

There is always some small delight to discover and we hope this will increase as our planting continues. We are aiming to develop a food forest and have planted bananas, passionfruit, lemonade, lime. You have a choice of beaches, sheltered from the wind since they face many different orientations. Join the fun of the crowd or relish solitude in the private undeveloped spots.
Straddie enjoys such beautiful weather for most of the year that it's great to cook and eat outdoors. Our galvanised iron pyramid covers a space large enough for multiple users to enjoy the cameraderie of cooking together. Sea Shanties is an ideal venue for groups including intimate weddings, social clubs, special interest groups and family reunions.

We recently had our honeymoon here and it was absolutely amazing! The location is second to none. We were able to sit by the water and watch the dolphins, turtles and even a wobbygong as well as the local koalas 😊 Jane was so friendly and helpful and really made our stay amazing! Stradbroke island itself is also 100% worth visiting it is breathtaking! We will be back for sure!

Beautiful and convenient location. Highly recommend the Sea Shanties, cabins were clean and well appointed. We saw the koalas and dolphins daily and sea eagles flying above. Communal kitchen available or cook inside your cabin. Very relaxing location with great views of Moreton Island and Brisbane city in the distance.
Recommend snorkeling at netted area near pier - there's some great fish hanging around the posts and nets and it's safer ( 5-10 min walk from cabins).
Plenty to do on Straddie too - walks, beaches, drives to name a few.
You won't regret it!

What beautiful little cabins at the quiet side of Stradbroke. The view is stunning and perfect little spot for fishing and just watching the sun set over the horizon. We were really pleased our puppy could be accommodated. The rooms are well fitted out and bright and airy. There is a "camp Kitchen" with BBQ facilities as well as extra fridge space. Little beach nearby suitable for walking and fishing. Thanks Jane for our lovely mini break we have booked again :)

This place is a true treasure! It's peaceful, clean and cosy. The dolphins swim right up to the private jetty and you are companied by koalas. Great snorkeling right in front of the cottages. The staff is lovely and helpful! There's a great seafood shop down the street and you can watch the most amazing sunsets over the ocean from the garden.

We had the most fantastic time here. The views were beautiful, the dolphins so cute every evening. We had the fire going every night and it was spectacular! Short walk to the beach, the shop and the seafood place. My dog absolutely loved it here too! Darryl and Lisa were amazingly friendly and fountains of information on local things to see and do but let you be if you wanted some peace and quiet. The camp kitchen had a multitude of everything you could need. We were in cabin 6 which is one back from the sea. All amenities were spotlessly clean and comfortable. Couldn't brag about this place enough

Great clean, well equipped and comfortable cabins in a beautiful setting with uninterrupted views of Moreton Bay. They are also pet friendly so our 4 legged family member was able to holiday with us. Communal kitchen has everything you need to cook up meals of the fresh fish caught off the private jetty including herbs from the great herb and vegetable gardens. Lisa and Darrell are great friendly hosts. We look forward to our next holiday here.
