This simple wish has been our guiding mantra in developing the Salamanca Wharf Hotel. Situated only a few metres from Hobart's waterfront, fronting Castray Esplanade and backing onto the historic and famous Salamanca Place, you really couldn't choose a better spot to drop anchor in Hobart. Salamanca Wharf Hotel is in the cultural and historic heart of Hobart.
Entering one of our rooms is like being invited into the beautiful and comfortable sanctuary of an adventurous friend. Inspired by the majesty, beauty and colour of Antarctica, the rooms feature extraordinary photography by Antarctic adventurer Laurent Dick. The crisp and vibrant colours of Antarctica, blue, aqua, golden orange and russet are reflected in the decoration throughout the hotel.
Our Queen bed studios are finished to the same beautiful standard as all our apartments. The floor to ceiling windows open onto balconies which can be opened to invite in Tasmania's famous fresh air. Our Blackheart Sassafras timber Queen beds are fitted with luxury linen, goose down doonas and come with comfort pillow options.
Our premium apartments feature separate bedrooms with Blackheart Sassafras timber King or Queen size beds, complemented by luxurious bathrooms and a separate kitchen, dining and living area. The enormous floor to ceiling windows slide open providing an alfresco feel to the rooms. The kitchen is fully equipped with quality appliances and the minibar fridge is stocked with premium Tasmanian beers, wines, and chocolates.
There are four luxurious loft penthouse apartment suites at the Salamanca Wharf Hotel, each immaculately presented with your comfort in mind. 5 metre high windows offer views over Castray Esplanade towards Hobart's harbour or to Salamanca Place with views across Princes Park. With floor to ceiling sliding glass doors, you can open up your room to let the view inside.

You would struggle to get a better located hotel in Hobart than Salamanca Wharf. 2 minutes from the markets, Battery Point up the stairs behind you, and the waterfront and city all within 10 minutes.
Rooms are big and bright and there’s everything you need for a long stay, including a fully equipped kitchen and washer/dryer.
The car stacker was great to use, and once explained a simple task, and so good to be able to just leave the car there for free and walk the city.
There’s a café in the foyer, but we preferred Salamanca Cream a few doors up, which had awesome coffee and pastries.

My wife and I stayed here on our honeymoon and it was fab. We had a suite on the top floor with a funky fun layout. There was a big unique window opening towards the greenery in the backyard. The beds were incredible. The service was great. The only thing we wanted more of was to stay longer. Hobart was an incredible city that we are considering moving to. Don’t miss the MONA.

Beautifully designed rooms with one of the best beds I’ve ever slept in. My wife and I came here on our honeymoon and fell in love with Hobart. You are walking distance to a hopping area of nightlife, restaurants, and markets. A short drive takes you to our favorite place in Tasmania: MONA. Great location, great amenities. There’s even a parking spot for your rental car. Question no more! Book that ticket!

I would more than happily recommend the Salamanca Wharf Hotel. We have a Penthouse room, actually the one they show on their website, it is absolutely beautiful. It may not have views of the water but the trees outside the main windows are lovely, providing a relaxing backdrop. The bed is large, soft and inviting with a huge bath set to the side of the bedroom. The living area is not over furnished, giving the area a very spacious feel. The lounge is very comfortable and the kitchen area has everything you need. The bathroom is large with the best shower I have ever used, it is spacious with 2
