At Smith & Gray, we specialise in making beautiful hand-made furniture and joinery the way it used to be - with patience, traditional craftsmanship and care. From antique reproductions to contemporary architectural pieces, we can custom make your own design, match a reference piece, or assist with designing a unique piece.
Our artisans use the same techniques and skills of a century ago to craft furniture that is equally as well made if not better than the original. We can turn a single antique dining chair into a set of six or recreate a beloved family treasure. We even have a specialist hand carver on hand for the embellishments on those special pieces.
From a contemporary upholstered bed head to a magical four-poster, Smith & Gray can custom make the sort of bed dreams are made of. We can also hand craft matching bedside tables and chests of drawers to make a complete bedroom suite. The beds and bed-heads included below are an example of bespoke pieces we have crafted for our clients.
Our bookcases and display cabinets literally come in all shapes and sizes. That's the beauty of custom designed furniture. I purchased a table through Smith and Gray Furniture. I knew it would be lovely but it is more stunning than I could have ever imagined. I would have never found the style and quality I wanted in any store.
All the staff were so polite and helpful throughout the process. They where so generous with the time they gave me to talk about my project.
The table was delivered on time ... to the minute.
I am look forward to having more custom furniture made by Smith and Gray.

Mark, Dave and his team excelled themselves to produce beautiful furniture for us. Mark converted our ideas into 3D computer simulations and used his extensive experience and design skills to fine tune each piece to what we think is perfection. Dave produced numerous samples with different finishes for us to consider. Nothing was too much trouble… for them.
Dave took the trouble to accompany the delivery to our home and supervised the setting up - all pieces had glass tops requiring considerable care during handling.
The finished items are superb, timeless and grace what was already a special

Outdoor dining table with bench NG Rosewood, low sideboard Black Bean, and one award winning clinic reception desk American Oak. What more can I say, these guys are the best. Great to work with and can do anything you need from a 12ft carved gold guilded mirror to a 7meter long roll top desk, Smith and Grey really can do it all. Highly recommended.. I couldn't be happier with the service provided and quality of product constructed by Dave and Mark at Smith & Gray. I contacted them to get a quote for a custom made timber hall table - within 3 weeks I had the beautiful piece sitting in my house. The quality and finish of the table is exactly what I was looking for and the cost was very competitive with various other quotes I received. Both Dave and Mark were so helpful and I would highly recommend Smith and Gray for any furniture fabrication requirements.
