As we get older, many of us become more vulnerable to illness. To reduce this, we would like to invite you to make an appointment to come into Golden Beach Medical Centre for a health check. The federal government has recently introduced a new health check. It is for everyone aged between 45 and 49 who may be at risk of developing a health complaint, like diabetes or heart problems.
Achieve set out to build and sustain rehabilitation concepts that any person, of any age can follow and improve their lives with. They believe that physical activity, lifestyle and behaviour modification can help prevent and/or manage chronic disease, injury and disability. Their staff are dedicated to helping our clients improve their physical & mental health and their quality of life.
Golden Beach Medical Centre and Pelican Waters Family Doctors have nurses that are trained as Respiratory Nurse Educators. Although at present there is no cure, with good management people with asthma can lead normal, active lives. The key to living with asthma is keeping it under control. This means learning about what causes your symptoms, how to avoid these triggers and how to use your medications correctly.
At Golden Beach Medical Centre, Aged Care is a clinical area to which we devote significant attention. General Practitioners at Golden Beach Medical Centre are skilled in assessing and treating many of the common clinical conditions that occur in the aging population including ischaemic heart disease, diabetes, hypertension, arthritis, chronic obstructive airways disease, kidney disease and cerebrovascular disease.

Duty of care by staff and nurses is non existent, if you are in extreme pain, they don't care, they will just tell you to book an appointment for tomorrow if they have one. When you book an appointment, you are always waiting at least 30 minutes to an hour past appointment time, then the doctor will only give you 5 minutes of his time before shuffling you out the door again. Seems young men are treated with contempt, whereas woman and the elderly get 45 minute appointments

I have been all over the world and can say this is likely the worst medical experience I have had sadly. Most of my time is in the 3rd world so this is quiet the insult for them. Zero care or concern and a waste of tax payers money allowing them to bulk bill. I think that some Dr's forgot they took an oath when beginning to practice or else this Dr just stopped caring long ago. This type of attitude just shouldn't be allowed. Disgusted.

There are always good days and bad days. Be it human error, ours or someone else's mistakes or a system that is perfect or needs addressing to make it perform better. Regardless, the cleaners, admin staff, management, nurses and Doctors and health professionals do an outstanding job at the Golden Beach Medical Centre. Im sure, already said, they probably don't always get it perfect. They however try their best, are kind
and accountable. Special praise to Dr Michael Hayes... awesome caring and always professional. Keep the faith. Spence

Can’t return to this practice after every single visit left waiting in excess of 30 mins. Told me to come back in half an hour as doctor was late, return 30 mins later with sick child to be told, “he’s running late, he will be another 30 mins”. Totally unacceptable wait times when there are better managed practises close by. Every doctor we have seen here spent half the appointment checking things on the internet.

Had a Veteran come in for mental health issues in order to get a referral to the mental health clinic. Referal didn’t get sent through until I went back in after not hearing anything. And if I hadn’t have gone back in then they wouldn’t have sent the referral through. Didn’t take any ownership for their incompetence and was not apologetic that they displayed negligence to a veteran seeking mental health treatment. Any DVA patients go to Dr Glenn Mulhall in Maroochydore he actually does his job and does it well.

Every time we've been here over the past two years (with two kids under 5 that means pretty much once a fortnight); we've had OUTSTANDING advice and service. We've seen at least five different doctors from this practice; and have been pleased with every single one. I honestly can't thank them enough for their honest opinions, explanation of conditions and outcomes for alternate treatment plans. It's refreshing to be given genuine, heartfelt advice in a non-patronising manner. I can't recommend these guys highly enough!
