Lifestyle Pilates
Pronounced 'Pi-Lah-Teez', the Pilates method is a unique system of strengthening and stretching exercises developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 1900's, utilising specialised equipment and mat exercises. It is a full body-conditioning program that will improve flexibility, balance, coordination, increase total body strength, increase fitness, muscle tone and improve posture.

People of all shapes and sizes, regardless of age and fitness levels will benefit from Pilates. It is ideal for addressing musculoskeletal imbalances and for orthopaedic, sports or work injury rehabilitation. Core stability - Pilates works the deep stabilising muscles of the body to create a strong core, giving the body a stable foundation to execute all other movment.
Services
This assessment is conducted by the Director, Anita Delbridge Goswell, who is an Exercise Physiologist and a Pilates Practitioner. The instructor takes you through your individual program and will progress you as required. Anita Delbridge Goswell is the Director of Lifestyle Pilates and Rehabilitation Studio and an accredited Exercise Physiologist with the Exercise and Sports Science Association (ESSA).
Developed by James D'Silva, who is based in London, The Garuda Method is the next level of movement that integrates Pilates, Yoga, Tai Chi, Martial Arts and Dance in the one flowing movement on a purpose built apparatus. ProActive Rehabilitation & Health and Lifestyle Pilates & Rehabilitation Studio are proud to bring this new form of exercise to Newcastle and New South Wales.
This course takes Exercise Physiologists on a journey from the initial meeting of clients, how to interview and functionally assess the Lumbar Spine, through to exercise prescription and delivery of the specific exercises needed to assist in the rehabilitation of lumbar spine pathologies.

This highly interactive and practical course will teach you the important assessment skills required to effectively and individually design specific programs for clients with different lumbar spine pathologies.You will learn how to assess clients thoroughly, choose the exercises needed to rehabilitate specific conditions and how to perform these exercises correctly.
This is a private session with our tertiary qualified Exercise Physiologist, Anita Delbridge Goswell, who is also a Level 4 Pilates Practitioner with The Australian Pilates Method Association (APMA). This assessment is used to determine your needs and design a Pilates program that will specifically address those needs.
