Our homes and workplaces should be sanctuaries that promote health and harmony in our lives, not illness and unrest. What we expose our bodies to in the form of nutrition and from our environment is critical to our long term health. As a qualified Nutritional and Indoor Environmental Health Practitioner (Building Biologist) this is my focus in helping people to achieve optimum health.

We spend on average 90% of our time indoors (The National Human Activity Pattern Survey), and my focus is to consider what is happening in homes and workplace's relating to environmental toxins, nutrition and lifestyle. Our health and the health of the environment are fundamentally linked. We all deserve to live with optimum health which I believe should be driven by how we live, work and play in our homes and workplaces.

I believe it can. In fact, I believe that ideally our homes and workplaces should not just cause no harm to our health, but they should also support and enhance our health, well-being, productivity and enjoyment of life. In the case of our homes they should also be sanctuaries where we can rest. BUILDING WELLNESS can actually be the answer in creating our healthiest lives.
Our homes and workplaces should be sanctuaries that promote health and harmony in our lives, not illness and unrest. It's a Building Biologists job to help make this happen. Building Biology is a scientifically evidence based practice of assessing and testing to determine the relationship between occupants health and the health of the built environment (homes, workplaces, schools).

It's usually difficult to know exactly what ingredients are in our nail polishes, because the print is so small on those little bottles of beautiful colour. Even if we could read the ingredients for most people the list of chemicals. There's been a lot of talk about how bad hormone (or endocrine) disrupting chemicals (HDC) are for our health, but what exactly are they and why are they bad for us?
