Owned by me - Dietitian Christina Turner, SOL started out as a nutrition & dietary counselling practice with humble beginnings in beautiful Byron Bay Australia. I still offer dietetic services and see a small number of clients who live with Eating Disorders. However, fast forward to many years later, I now provide clinical supervision to help other Dietitians hone their skills with a focus on the Non-Diet Approach and weight-inclusive practice.
The word 'SOL' means 'sun' in Spanish. My philosophy is to provide evidence-based nutrition advice with the warmth and compassion of the sun.

Services
I'm an Accredited Practising Dietitian and have a special interest in Eating Disorders. I've been using The Non-Diet Approach and weight-inclusive principles in my clinical dietetic practice for some time. I'm also currently working hard to incorporate what we now know about trauma and it's effects on chronic disease development into my skillmix.

We all have an opinion on nutrition, because we all eat and we all have a relationship with food. With that comes the wealth of information on the internet, in magazines and in the general media. Some of the information is from well credentialled health practitioners, some from well-meaning community members but some, unfortunately, is from those wishing to sell the latest and greatest fad.
IBIS Australia offer membership to their organisation. Membership includes access to relevant book lists, newsletters and information on strategies to manage Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). The Allergy unit at RPAH has been leading the way in the research of allergies and intolerances for many years.
We might be biased;, but we suggest looking for a Dietitian who is trained in motivational interviewing and counselling along with Non-Diet and HAES Approaches. Dietitians trained in these approaches, will be well versed in really listening to your patient's health journey and not jump to calorie counting, unachievable weight loss methods or "blanket advice".
