The suburb of Flagstaff Hill was developed in the mid-1960's by Hooker Rex Pty Ltd who employed a New South Wales Golf Architect, Mr Bob Green, to choose the best site and prepare the Golf Course. With the guidance of Hooker Rex General Manager, Mr David Hillan, the course began to take shape and was sculpted into a Flagstaff Hill landmark with future housing sub-divisions offering prime golf course frontage.
In 1967 the Golf Club was formed and the Clubhouse built, and Hooker Rex asked the Committee of the day to run the golfing side of the project, giving the Club the right to purchase the property at some time in the future. This option was taken up in 1978 and the Golf Club now owns the land and the first class Clubhouse.

The course provides 18 holes of variety and challenge suitable for golfers of all standards, with a par 72 for men (blue Scratch 72, white Scratch 71) and par 73 (red Scratch 74) for women. An Orange short course has been set up for beginners, Par 60 for men, Par 61 for women.
For your flexibility, competition golf is available every day of the week with plenty of tee times still available for those who prefer the relaxation and exercise of a casual non-competitive round. With the 9th hole returning to the clubhouse, golfers can enjoy the added flexibility of shorter rounds to fit in with time constraints.

The Club Handbook contains the annual program of events, and information about the club in general, competitions, Pennants, and Member Directory and may be obtained from the Office and Pro Shop. Saturday Stroke comps all have alternate Stableford, and Par comps will not have alternate Stableford as incorrectly listed in the handbook.
The Flagstaff Hill Golf Club welcomes Junior Members, and has an active program to encourage children to experience golf in a fun, friendly, inclusive and non-contact environment. We are proudly an official MyGolf center which means our junior programs are delivered by accrediated PGA of Australia Members and Golf Australia Community Instructors.
Familiarity with the rules of the game is important for all players, as the Rules Of Golf define the underlying principles of the game and must be adhered to in all competitions. The range of changes is extensive and will be challenging for many to get used to, even changes of terminology - "Water Hazards" become "Penalty Areas", with wider application, for example.
The following local rules apply to playing golf at the Flagstaff Hill Golf Club and are printed on the back of all score cards, to be read in conjunction with the Rules of Golf and the Temporary Local Rules as published on the Local Rules noticeboard outside the Pro Shop. The local rules have been revised for the 2019 Rules of Golf and provide a number of additional options for players, so it is important to read them.

My daughter had a wonderful time at her graduation here. I can't personally comment on the food or service but my daughter had no complaints.
Unfortunately there was a LOT of kitchen noise during the graduation ceremony - cutlery jingling, dishes crashing about and their radio playing. A bit inconsiderate.
Also the car park is pitch black.

Sorry but I was underwhelmed. The course was dry and patchy, which made the balls bounce in all kinds of directions, but this is the difficult season.
What was most disappointing though, was the treatment in the pro shop. My friend (a member) asked for details about a day on which the course was closed. He wanted to tee off early and put in only 9 holes. Although it said on the note to enquire for specifics at the pro shop, the young guy behind the counter just pointed at the line reading 'whole day closed' in a condescending way as if he wanted to indicate that my friend could not read. To me
