Laverty Pathology
Around 70% of all medical decisions rely on pathology. It's a crucial service that helps doctors and specialists correctly diagnose their patients. At Laverty Pathology, we're committed to supporting practitioners by delivering timely, accurate, and high quality diagnostic results. We know that patients all across NSW and the ACT rely on us to collect, analyse, and report results - and it's a responsibility we take very seriously.

We have a team of more than 2,000 people who work year round to deliver results. Our team includes collectors, couriers, laboratory assistants, scientists, and pathologists, all supported by operations, logistics, administration, data entry, and call centre teams.
Services
If you're unable to visit a pathology collection centre, we're here to help. We offer a collection service where we send a member of our team out to your home to collect your specimen. You can also access this service if you live in a nursing home or other institution. Our home collection service is available Monday to Friday and caters for as many patients as possible.
Once your doctor refers you for cardiac monitoring with us, you can visit one of our clinics located in NSW and the ACT. Laverty Pathology works in paternership with leading consultant cardiologists operating from our premises, who will run timely, accurate and affordable cardiac lab diagnostics including, ECGs, Holter Monitor Services and 24 Hour blood pressure monitoring.
We offer the latest in fertility testing technology and it begins with Anti Mullerian Hormone (AMH) testing. If you're considering the best timing for a possible pregnancy, it's a good idea to have your AMH level tested. If you have a lower than average level of ovarian reserve, you'd be advised to try for a baby sooner rather than later.
Laverty's Gastrolab is Australia's largest provider of on-site and at-home hydrogen/methane breath tests. These tests diagnose malabsorption of fermentable carbohydrates (FODMAPs) including fructose and lactose, and small intestinal bacterial overgrowth. Both conditions are leading causes of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) symptoms which include abdominal pain, cramping or discomfort, bloating, diarrhoea and/or constipation, and excess flatulence.
A simple and highly accurate blood test, NIPT screens for common chromosomal abnormalities from as early as the 10th week of pregnancy, for both singleton and twin pregnancies. The medical specialists at Laverty Pathology have compiled a series of Patient Information Brochures to help you understand some of the more common medical conditions and their testing implications.

I've been here a few times and they have been very good (waiting time and the COVID swab test). On Tuesday the person who performed the swab test did it so hard and quick that my nasal passage is still very sore. Today is Thursday and I have made an appointment to see the GP tomorrow to see what is going on. This is very upsetting!

Reviewing the drive-through Covid testing.
Best experience to date. I arrived approximately twenty minutes before opening, there were about 30 cars in front. Traffic control were proactively lining up the testing lanes, getting so many as possible logged in, ready to start the ID and sampling process.
In a fairly squeezy environment the operation works really well. I can’t fault it. Today’s turn-around was less than six hours. Sampling staff polite, efficient and the the one who tested me was very gentle!
“Coalface” experiences often reflect how staff are being treated further up the

Third time using this place for testing to travel overseas.
Easy to book and no appointment so might have to queue.
Results normally within 24hrs and gone my result the same day and just over 2hrs.
Went today (Fri 7th Jan) and maybe 20 cars in queue but out in 15mins
No queue when left but they weren’t accepting walk-ins at the time (2 people turned away)

Free Covid PCR test completed within 40min of opening time. There was a queue but it moved at a reasonable pace.
The nurse who took our swab was very nice.
Results received by 5:30pm the same day.
Would not hesitate to visit again.

The actual testing was fairly swift (under an hour for drive in service - 5 stars for that part) but the results took 5 days to come back (1 star?). Worse than that, the phone call I made on day 4 had me wait 6 hours before cutting me off. The second call 1.5 hours ended with a recorded message that due to high call volumes I would have to call back after 7.30am next day. Zero stars for the phone service.

Sadly, I am trying to do the right thing: getting tested. Two days in a row I have been turned away from the willoughby testing center BEFORE 2pm closing times!! I arrived today at 11:15am to learn that no more cars will be accepted in the que! With 6000+ new covid cases today, what seems right about cutting off at 11:15am, when it clearly states 2pm?

Got a covid PCR test at the Summer Hill drive-thru clinic. Never got sent any results because they lost them. Laverty said they sent the swab to another lab all the way up in Brisbane. Utterly useless. Laverty is dangerously incompetent. Can't believe my taxes are paying for this scam. Avoid at all costs.

Taking Covid test and the queue was super long. However, the guy who’s trying to direct cars was very helpful answering our questions, letting us know the queue might take at least one hour. Some cars don’t know the road situation and he was very eager to direct them. He’s very polite and can tell he’s doing his best trying to manage the long queue and keep it in order with gentle attitude and smile on his face. Under a very hot sun without any water.
As we were waiting, there’s a lady got out
of her car and trying to argue something with the man, even trying to direct other cars to

It has been over four days waiting for a COVID swab result. A useless text sent to reassure you that the swab has been received and please call to follow up if results are not received in 36 hours. What a waste of time, what a joke! There is no one on the other end of the line! Just an automated message to ask not to call. I am a genuine case that has tested positive on a RAT test and have vulnerable close contacts awaiting this result. I advise not to use this service. Go to your local hospital. I would give minus 10 stars if given the opportunity!

Quick and contact free forms. Healius tech used with QR codes means better sample tracking, minimum data entry and high sample turnover. Been here 7 times and only needed to fill in manual forms once. Douglas path was still on pen and paper with sample collectors touching forms, pens and samples with the same gloved hands. Results came back mostly within 48 hrs depending on queue but never a non response which my sister encountered at Douglas.
