Before I became a doctor and started working at Main Road Medical Centre, I was a midwife and Dr Dobrila Bajic worked as a registrar in obstetrics and gynaecology. Along with Dr Laurens Schrama, we are all very passionate about women's health. It's always been a big part of our practice and having two female doctors on staff means we are able to assist women who prefer to talk to female doctors.
For a variety of reasons, men's health is a tricky topic. For a start, men are more likely than women to be backwards in coming forwards when they have a health complaint. They're also less inclined to chat about health-related concerns and less likely to pursue preventive approaches to disease. Instead, they prefer to be reactive; they usually see a doctor when they've reached a crisis point.
Anyone who has a child with asthma knows how terrifying the condition can be. However, the good news is we now have much more effective treatments for it, and most asthma patients don't even need to see a specialist. Of course, an asthma diagnosis understandably brings up many questions for my patients.
Skin cancer is an ever-present danger for sun-loving Australians. According to Cancer Council Australia, approximately two in three Australians will be diagnosed with skin cancer by the time they are 70, and more than 750,000 people are treated for one or more non-melanoma skin cancers in Australia every year.

After booking an appointment, arrived on site to be told there was nothing in their system, despite showing the confirmation email as proof, and told to leave because they weren't going to accept any more patients/bookings.
What an unethical and shameful display to turn away a sick patient with a confirmed booking because of a mistake on your end. Disgraceful
