We are a team of two Clinical Psychologists who work with children, adolescents, parents and families. We share a passion for working with young people and their families, in order to support them in achieving their goals. We offer evidence-based psychological services, while taking a supportive, warm, individualised, and respectful approach with our clients.
We work responsively, in collaboration with young people and their parents (and, if appropriate, their kindergartens, schools or other professionals involved). When we are working with children we ensure our therapy is developmentally appropriate, which means we are playful, flexible and creative in our approach.

Services
You do not require any type of referral to see us. Referrals are only required if you wish to claim rebates from Medicare. Many private health insurance policies with extras cover provide a rebate for clinical psychology services where the Medicare rebate is not being claimed (no referral required, but please check the requirements and rebates with your health fund).
Young people see psychologists like us for lots of different reasons. You may see us for help with things in your life that are bothering you, or you may want help with the way that you are feeling, thoughts you are thinking, or the way you are getting on with other people. Sometimes young people just have some things they'd like to talk to someone about.
Psychology treatment usually begins with an assessment to gain an understanding of the young person and their/their parent's concerns, so that we can figure out how best to help. For children and younger adolescents, this often involves time with the parent(s) and child together, time alone with the child (if they are primary-school age or older and only if the child and family are comfortable with this), and time alone with the parents.
Dr Suzanne Barrett has over 16 years experience in providing professional supervision, which she finds to be an enjoyable and rewarding component of her work. We are a small team, limited to two-three experienced clinical psychologists who work with children, adolescents, parents and families. We are passionate about working with young people and their families, offering evidence-based psychological services while taking a supportive, individualised and respectful approach with all clients.
